Ha yeah, guy is near his 70ies, doesn't understand some of the intricacies of the technological world we live in anymore...
I need a beer though, fuck those fuckers. There was one time he went to some employee (a pretty important guy in the company) father funeral and at some point he blurted a speech and the speech was 100% about how he missed the employee at work and we were barely making it without him, so come back soon. That was fucking classless and I thought it was just a mishap, but nope, this family owned company doesn't give a shit unless your last name is theirs.

I don't believe it is in his or my best interest to take half a day off.
A bit of water in his wine would have been a smarter choice.
Nevertheless, old guy is clearly disconnected considering we use iPads and our personal cellphones daily to test websites adaptive layouts.

That's the thing though, it was either I answered a few texts and transfer the money while still doing whatever little work I have to do right now or just take half the day off and fix that personal shit?

Fuck that. I've yet to see one professional or semi-professional work environment where there wasn't always a time for slacking. As long as your work gets done, who the fuck cares if you sit around for a bit doing fuck all.

I've said it since the beginning though, the boss isn't bad but he runs an internet centered biz like you'd run a fucking GM plant. Clashes all the time. He's a decent guy otherwise, most times.

i wonder what the actual purpose of ball hair is. I mean, fish that live in underground lakes lose their eyes over evolution. You'd think once we got boxers on the hair would have kinda been extinct.

Depends on the organization and the culture. GENERALLY, most are fine so long as you hit your targets, deliverables by the due dates...Obviously, you don't go broadcasting your outside-of-work activities during work hours. But, I'm not about to pull aside one of my developers who is on Facebook or whatever and read him/her the riot act either so long as they are meeting my expectations and not impacting our timelines, doesn't matter to me.
But, there are also those organizations which want to squeeze every last second out of you working for them.
