Wouldn't you have rather gotten that 3K as an extra ~300 a month rather than have it sit with the government and returned at the end with no interest accrual?

Of course the news likes to twist shit around.
A young 17 year old "shot himself" while in the car and the media says the gun was found in the car. Errrrrr yeah, incorrect. How do I know? Because my barber lives in the house behind where it happened. He said they were all hot boxin in the car and he thinks someone shot the kid, then the gun was recovered in my barbers backyard.
Then of course his sisters, aunties, uncles, mommas are all; "Someone shot him, he needs justice, too many young black kids dying."

So when I was younger I let my pops cut my hair. Even all around with a 1, easy, can't fuck up right? So my dad is a good 10 minutes in when we hear this knock on the door. (It's about 9PM). A sheriff is standing at our door, with about 3 other officers, one had his gun drawn and the other had the k9. Ok, wtf you do now momma? Officers tell us to step outside, mind you I'm getting My haircut, so I have hair on my shirt and half my head looks like Edward Scissorhands was trying to rape me in a cave.
Anyway, officer says "we got a call about a disturbance here, someone with a gun and the person is hiding under the table." My dad goes, "sorry officer, not here." "Can we check the residents just to be sure, do you have any guns?" My dad says "no" can I least let me wife know that you guys are coming inside so she's not scared. Officer says "no we will let her know" and draws the gun at me and my dad while they start to move forward. At this time I'm like bruh, I know I wanted to be a fake ass gangsta but I don't want to die yet. Officers go in, realized that it was fake, they come back out and look at me. "One officer goes, what are you two doing in there?" Other officer says, you can't tell, look at his head looks like Stevie Wonder put some clippers to his head."
Later on that night my dad goes "oh shit, I told them I had no guns, I had some in the lockbox in the closet." My dad told the officers that he was a C/O, they pretty much didn't care.

and I think your dad did the right thing, by letting them in. If there's one thing I've learned- always tell the cops what they want to hear.

There's really no point fighting with cops. They will always win. They have enough power and laws behind them to do what they want. And if they break the law, the system generally believes one officer over 50 civilians. It's just not worth the time, money and effort, not to mention the major inconvenience they can put you through

I mean I don't disrespect LE but for the most part I don't give a fuck about them. Every time I've crossed a LE officer or had to deal with them they've been tools because of their badge. Every person from HS I knew that became cops were douche bags.
