Yea I'm going to do the same thing again. But I'm going to Hondabond everything this time.

Edit: Also, she doesn't work there anymore. I just know some people there because she did. No one I care about. LOL

Don't be fooled. I've heard many times that the Cayman is much more fun to drive than the 911.

going all out on a Porsche gets you into the 200k point. I'm willing to bet that of all Porsche sales, less than 5% crack that mark. I dunno...

Best bet is to buy used. If you want it all, you might as well save 45k after 2 years

I must admit, I started to get drawn in by the Cayman. Was seriously considering it for a few days (lol) as the new fun car. I couldn't buy new though.. the depreciation would keep me up at night. Buying used- my issue was the Porsche tax on anything related to parts, servicing, or even modding. $2500+ for an exhaust? C'mon...

I've heard the Cayman is pretty bullet proof though. Doesn't have crazy power numbers but apparently it's a hoot to drive. Heard many-a-Porsche-owners saying they enjoy the Cayman over their personal 911, as it just feels more engaging and more nimble. Not that the 911 is a bad car... just more "to the roots" of what Porsche used to be.

Isn't the whole Cayman v. 911 debate usually revolve around the mid v. rear-engine placement?

too many purists thing rear engine is the shit or something?

I'm desperate to wash my car, but I got a written warning in the mail after the last time I washed my car.

Guess I'll pay the hand wash, and bring it home to do all the other shit I usually do.

how many of you have HOA where you live? Here, it's an absolute rarity. If you don't live in a condo, or in like a gated complex for people 40+, you just don't see them.

HOA seems like it'd be such a pain... I guess it does keep the rusty cars off the front lawns though

There's a good amount of HOA's in the more affluent areas of LA and OC. I used to live in one, it was nice and all but the board are all a bunch of uptight dickweeds.. The suburbs and non-gated communities have less of them thankfully.

I can understand when you're in a condo building and essentially sharing one building between however many people are living in it, but, when you have a stand alone house on your own property? I guess your own land isn't even your own land anymore.

I can understand how the HOAs like to keep places neat and tidy and to keep the riff raff out, but it gets ridiculous when they control any and every aspect of your house exterior/property. So much for individualism.

if i lived in a condo i wouldn't mind HOA. pays for the pool boy to sleep with all the desperate housewives.. tennis courts, gyms etc.. but that wouldn't be the long term game.. I would prefer a house and would want to do what I want (within reason of course)

My HOA is 130 every 3 months. We get access to the fishing lake, pool, basketball court, and picnic area. We have access to a clubhouse too but it's 150 to rent out.

My sister in law lives across the way in the other community and she pays 80 a month but she gets gym, clubhouse, pool.

But you can't park on the street in my area. Then if ou live in the gated area it's more. We have a friend who lives behind the gates, same access as us, and they pay 300 every 3 months.

I still have to mow my own lawn though, but I'm not complaining.

oh ok, that's kind of cool. You at least get stuff for your fees. I'm thinking maybe the Home and Garden channel has put a bad spin on HOAs for me

HOA are the norm in Florida, but this time around we don't have one. And I love it.

I drove the 911 for a few days and loved it. Cayman is probably faster around a track since the rear swings out easier on the 911...but I'd still rather have one. The new GT models of the cayman and boxster are amazing. I was heavily considering a used boxster but I'd have had to go 2005 or 2006 and I didn't LOVE that body style like the new one...then I'd feel like a dbag that bought a car just to say I owned a porsche. We have a friend with one...he let me drive it. He bought it with a custom turbo set up.

but still the best

Too many to name... Lol. Never saw the appeal. Driving experience is amazing. And they look hot. But I want to look, occasionally, not all the time. To me Porsche is like the side bitch I'd only want a couple days a month.

It's more about what you said. The only Porsche's I'd want to own would cost me an arm and a leg. And at that point, at that level, there's SOOOOOO many cars to buy. Lol

It's at our own house, and I use a shut off nozzle..but the driveway is on an incline, so excess water naturally runs to the street. I guess the hippies here in SLO complained and I got a warning a few days later about water use.

The Diablo Canyon Nuclear Plant a few miles away has a desalination system for itself, but there have been talks about expanding the system and sending the water to cities.

I think Santa Barbara has a desalination system that was built, but never used. California

When I lived in Fresno, I just parked on he lawn to wash the car. Two birds with one stone. Nobody ever complained.
