I've known a couple MC gangsters over the years...I think more than phony it is compressed...shit that happens over 30 years compressed into 13 episodes...but the last episode of this season pissed me off...

I know I'm not a regular around here, but I just got back from my timing belt service and wanted to share it with someone who may care. That's likely not my co-workers, and definitely not my girlfriend...
Background: Northern California and Colorado driven car, 104,500 miles, 8 years old
Timing belt - good shape, no visible cracks upon flexing the grooves
Serpentine belt - 2 pen-tip sized holes between 2 ribs, side-by-side
Water pump - starting to see some coolant leaks, but only through the weep hole
Idler pulley - good shape, minor dark color on outside, no scoring into the metal
Tensioner pulley - good shape, minor dark color on outside, no scoring into the metal
Hydraulic tensioner - good shape
Spark plugs - good shape
Thermostat - good shape
Coolant & camshaft seals - replaced
Glad it's done! $350 in parts, $350 in labor to an independent mechanic (7 years experience at an Acura dealership). I'm tempted to call the dealer and get a comparable quote. Including the 105k service and thermostat, probably $1,200-$1,500? Whew!
Thanks for letting me ramble...

The MC guys I lived next to looked super sinister but they didn't really act hard.

Last music post from me.
The rest of this album is fantastic. Sitting at work and it's repeated twice, I'm on the third time now.

Hey, I'm in Colorado Springs, what was the shop that did it for you? $350 is crazy good for labor.

The actual cost was $250 labor for the standard timing belt service (belt, pulleys, tensioner, etc.), but he added 1.5 hours of additional labor for changing the thermostat and spark plugs and a few other things. Good guy.

Although the thermostat is right there.. I would have gladly paid someone $20 to change it, or at least get the lower bolt out.

Worst live show ever, Trent Reznor. But I still love the music, pretty cutting edge.
And it's under 80 degrees today, gonna break in the new fireplace

the coffee machine came in yesterday and had my first cup this morning....
love that I can use my own grounds for this....was a great feeling and it makes a nice 8-10oz cup of coffee in less than a minute and the cleaning takes barely half that !!!

it's the little things, really...
I was happy with the SOA ending, because I hated Tara. BUT, after some reflection, I thought it was a little over the top.
