I get adjudication withheld every time. Last time, I was nice to the trooper so he didn't write what he used to determine I was speeding. They let me go. The judge was the lady from "speeders".

I've had two speeding tickets in my life. Both over 10 years ago now.

The first I was pulled over, well, let me start again. The city cop pulled behind me in my driveway. Car off and I was half way to the front door. I was 18 at the time and was coming back from a party. I had a few. So I didn't argue the ludicrous "13MPH over". A week or so later my friends and I reinacted what the police said happened and it would have literally been impossible for me to go that fast so quickly for them to target me. They just targeted a slammed mint Honda with a giant fart can at 11PM at night. Whatever.

The second was Sunday after church. I was driving my grandma, in her Buick, to my Aunt's house. We went from a rural 50MPH to a small town 25MPH within a few hundred feet. Apparently I didn't hit the brakes hard enough and got a 31 in a 25. Grandma said bullshit and actually paid my fine. Lol

I speed everywhere all the time! I just have a ceiling when doing it and pick and choose my places smartly.

and wont go on my driving record

Is it still reported to your insurance company even though it doesn't go on your record? That's always my concern. I've had one ticket in my life, and it was when I was 17 years old. Was going 90 in a 65 in a Buick Lesabre. Cop only wrote the ticket for 84 so I didn't get reckless op. Off my record now.

I don't want my insurance to increase so I'm a pretty conservative driver. My girlfriend on the other hand does like 12-15 over no matter what street she is on. For the near 5 years that we've been dating, she has never gotten one ticket. Blows my mind, and makes me a little jealous. Either super lucky, or gender.

hell no, its not reported to insurance!!
the stipulations for the drivers course are:

-not caught doing over 25mph the posted speed limit
-not in a construction zone
-not in a school zone
-havent attended the class in the past 12 months.

if you meet all these requirements and complete the drivers saftey course with a passing grade, the ticket is expunged.

the court gives you a couple of options to take care of the ticket, and rightfully so.
Ive never gotten a speeding ticket, ever. why should it go on my record for a 13mph over the posted ticket?!?
yes, its just a way for the state to collect.

and to supposedly get you to slow down.

There are limitations on how many times you can elect school in FL too. Depends on if it's mandated or selected, 4 hour or 8 hour course escalation.

I did school once...went to a comedy club that offered a class. It was pretty cool.

Hopefully these will be the same rules in Canada. I'll have to research more.

I got booked for 140km on a 100km max highway. Which is bullshit since everyone else was doing like 120km-ish. I was just slowly passing people. Wasn't ripping past anyone

I've wanted to try the comedy class, maybe my next one, but hopefully not. I did my first class at a Ryan's steak house (kind of like a Golden Corral buffet) and ate the whole time.

yes, its just a way for the state to collect.
well again it depends on state to state....in MO the insurance does know about it....also if you get a ticket in say Illinois it "carries" with you into MO...

in KS things are different....insurance does not care about it and if I get a ticket in a different state, its not carried into KS....so if you have 3 tickets on your record and you move to KS, you start with a clean slate....

and about going to court....its either you were speeding or not speeding.....this is how it went down with me....I was given a ticket right outside my apartment complex in MO....he said I was doing 43 in a 35....

Judge (asking the cop): did you calibrate the radar? did you check the tuning fork? did you poop your pants? did you blah blah blah:
Cop (as if he remembered everything from couple weeks back): yes, yes, yes, yes? (standard questions I guess)...
Judge (asking me): so you are pleading not guilty...
Me: yes
Judge: do you have something to say?
Me: yes...can I ask the cop a question?
Judge: go ahead
Me: how long have you been patrolling Manchester/Ballwin?
Cop: 6 years
Me: you do know the speed limit on the road you caught me on is 40 right and not 35
Cop: SILENT !!!

Me (to the judge): Sir, I was barely going 3 over and that tooo on a downhill....

Judge: but you were still speeding right?
Me: would he have caught me if he knew I was going only 3 over? wait, I think yes because I drive a modded car....I will take the 3 over ticket and pay for that....

Fine was reduced by only couple bucks....

I suggest going to a traffic law company/lawyer....you will pay $100 more but it stays off the record....comes in handy if you are in a state where the insurance goes up depending on the tickets/points you have on your record....
