I would love to join, but ain't nobody got time/money for dat kinda drive for a car meet. C'mon...
I'm probably not in the majority but I'd much rather spend 10 hours detailing my car or modding than driving to go see a bunch of other people sweating their cars and themselves. If I'm gonna do that, I'm certainly gonna make sure it's close enough to home to be able to not feel like I wasted much time getting there.

All understandable points but you're not going to meet anyone new if you don't venture out 
If you're not willing to make the drive to the national meet, just organize your own local meet and don't bitch about the location. If it's convenient to where you are, it's most likely not convenient for other members. It'll always be that way.
