Exclamation 3G AT issues

I'd love to get a 4ht gen MT TL but they are so rare I may have to get a AT due to what I want to spend. What is some feedback on the AT transmission issues I have heard about on the 4th gen?

if they are derived from the 3rd gen AT then there might be problems down the road.

the new '12 has an all new six speed auto and only time can tell with that one.

the 4th gen is very new, I suggest you head to the 4th gen section and read if they have any problems or not.

I dont have an auto, but there have been some recent threads about the 3rd gen TL's auto tranny failing...but have been covered by warranty.

but dont get a 2nd gen, as they are out of their warranties and the trannies will fail.
dont quote me, do some reading on this site and come up with your own conclusions.

AVOID any Acura auto-transmission. There are ways to maintain and update it to avoid issues, but its better to look for those rare-6spd

105k and running smooth. If you change the 3rd/4th gear sensors every 60k miles and switch to a less-FM fluid you'll be fine. Get an 06 IMO. Slight changes at a moderate increase in price aka TPMS, smaller ballast, etc
