Nothing wrong with enthusiasm
Sonnick, I'd like to see what you'd do to a stock G37. Think you could take it from a roll?

Sorry but that 5AT is too big a boat anchor to overcome in running a 6MT well....even with the former being well modded. My son's Altima (which pretty much runs even with Sonnick's AV6) WILL make short work of a full bolt on AV6 (or base TL) 5AT.
Shelly....if you ever see a lowered blue 05 Altima 3.5SE with blackout windows and NJ plates (mainly in Queens) that's my son.

oo this is good stuff ..lol satin silver we would be close dnt think ud make short work of me either lol we basically have the same mods im ordering pre cats as we speak n the rv6 jpipe to wit the same unorthodox racing crank pulley. just have a fujita instead..personally dnt think sonnick will destroy me either will he win yes but not by much.. i raced a 08 accord coupe six speed he beat me by half a car not even. plus i know i can outdrive sonnick even with a 5at lmao ..
plus my accord for a sedan only weighs 3300 which aint bad for a sedan where as the tl is 3500-3600lbs.
im not in jersey or queens much at all prolly never see your son unfortunatly..lol..
under estimate my driving skillz boys..haha jk. SLAM IT IN DRIVE AND PUNCH IT..lol

one a side note(I know the post has long moved on from the 370Z vs Accord convo lol) : I got a chance to drive the the 370Z for a few hours doing a favor for a friend.. he had the 09 fully loaded with touring package.. I loved the 6-speed in that car, especially the Rev match feature and those cars are quick if you know how to drive stick.. but yea it's a little over rated..

woah.. nice. 335i would be really cool. It's a tad bit faster than the MS3 from roll but from dig it surely is much faster. I'm thinking about getting a brand new '11 135i sport. I feel my ms3 cheap, me no likey no more.

Looks like the mods are protecting this pile of shit like usual. I get the ban warning, they take down his home address and he gets to go on terrorizing the internet with multiple identities and physical threats. Pretty much business as usual for azine.

i saw something fitting that bill on rt. 18 a few years back -- he was really dancing on the minefield, too  but i wasn't biting. i knew the traps up there like the back of my hand -- a mile later there's the b&w on the median

The 335 is alot faster than the MS3, driven right they are good for bottom 13's (many guys have gone 13.2-13.3@103-105mph with them bone stock). The times I have seen for the stock MS3 are 13.9-14.1@98-101mph. That is a far cry from the performance of the 335..... also the MS3 is a boy racer kids car (cheap performer) and the 335 is a world class luxury sedan/coupe, complete apples to oranges comparo.
Since this is an "ACURA" forum..... I think its safe to say that a well driven 3G TL-S with a 6 speed would give the MS3 a run for its money both from a dig and from a roll. Still comparing apples to oranges as the TL is a waaaaay nicer car from a fit/finish/luxury standpoint.
You should have kept you Lexus..... oh thats right you couldnt swing the payments, how are you ever going to swing the bimmer then????
You are nothing more than a Troll, you have absolutely nothing constructive to add to this forum or any of the others (AW for example), you always think what your driving is the best and your hypocracy is simply amazing, you contantly bashed auto trans cars and then you go and buy a IS350 and then change your tune completely telling everyone that is what they should be driving..... then you buy the MS3 and now that is the golden rule.... its an econo box with a turbo, nothing more, nothing less.

^ uh hi. thread revival. there's always so much confusion between the three: G37S, 335i, MS3. I've beaten a 335i from a dig on multiple occasions (50-120, typically; never had the room or nerve to go beyond). I've never really raced a MS3, but people seem to claim it's "much quicker." meh...who knows

I think you're right about that dyno reading a bit high. This guy from my350z that ran 12.3@111 on street tires with boltons says he made 319 whp @8k rpms. Dynos will always read different though... Best way to gauge your power band and get tune dialed in is on a dyno, best way to gauge power is on a drag strip.

Those supercharged TLs are heavier, FWD, and may not have optimal gearing for the 1/4 mile. My car traps as high or higher than said supercharged TLs, and is certainly not making over 300whp. Probably closer to 270whp. It weighs less by a few hundred pounds, and has nearly perfect gearing due to tire and final drive choice which is apparently enough to make the difference.

^^ Like you have mentioned, the correct tire setup acts like a higher final drive. Sounds pretty sweet.
That's a sick time for a bolt on/tune 370z.
Oh and FYI, my friend dyno'd his TL on that same dyno the 370 did and put down 23x whp (was not running good). Then he went to the same dyno I used and put down 204whp. That's a 15% difference! So I joke with my buddy with the 370 saying he barely put down 300 hehe.
Hopefully after my new Jpipe/merge collector/clutch/slave cylinder mod I will have another run with him. And at the track of course

I'm sure I will invest in some DRs at some point. However, I want to see where I stand on street tires first. And I do need tires as well. I'm gonna go for some high performance all season so I can actually get traction in 1st
I'm just trying to get below 13.5 with bolt ons and street tires. Considering I ran a 14.0 with a 2.35 60', I think it's totally possible.

You are 100% right. However, I'd rather finish the exhaust only because it's really frustrating me. Also, it's my DD so I want to at least have all the bolt ons working correctly if you know what I mean.

Street tires can just be so frustrating at the track, especially in a FWD... It took me over a year of taking this car to the track a couple times a month on street tires before I could pull consistent 2.0-2.1s on my 245 width general exclaims when the track prep was good. However, going to the track with DRs or slicks is a delight... Even with bad prep. It's like driving an all new car. It also saves the tread on your street tires like nothing else, considering how much you have to spin them to get good times.
Judging from your previous times and new mods done to the car with expected gains, you'll certainly be able to do a 13.5 or lower on a 2.0-2.1 '60, maybe even on a 2.2. The last time i used street tires at the track was in 2009 and I managed to get a 13.2@107.5 on a 2.08 '60 which I have to admit felt like quite an accomplishment. My horribly slipping stock clutch on its last leg at the time helped a lot to get out of the hole so well without spinning or bogging, then hamstringed me when I tried to run on slicks... haha.

Well first you have to remember that although there are those who own FWD cars that would tell you otherwise, RWD has great advantages for launching due to basic physics. He got a low 1.8 '60 foot on that run with street tires and a low 1.8 + a 111 trap is certainly believable for a 12.3. I've run a 12.4 on a 109 trap with a 1.8 '60 foot. Second, dyno results to not give any real indication of power aside from the shape of the curve and a ballpark figure. I could go take my car to a dyno right now and make 400whp after a short talk with the dyno operator. Some shops try to adjust their dynos as close to real world numbers as possible, while others purposely inflate numbers to keep dyno queens coming back.

I'm assuming you were spraying though when you trapped 109?

Yeah, was on a mostly empty bottle that was only holding enough pressure through the 1/8th mile before losing too much pressure, though. I trapped as high as 112 when I had the 75 shot. However, I am looking for 112 traps N/A before 2012

A guy I work with came pretty close to buying a 5.5 gen Max a few years ago. I told him to do it and that he could make it a pretty fast car for not much money and that the "sleeper" appeal would be loads of fun. Deal fell through though.
