350Z Vs TL?

350z is a tad lighter, a few more hp, and a tad more aerodynamic. my guess is he would have beat me at some point. i don't have mt.
350z 0-60 mph in 5.4 sec vs TL 0-60 mph in 5.7 sec. They have the advantage b/c they where build as a sports car , we on the other hand is a family car. But the TL has lot of potential. From a dead stop, better launch it more than 4500 rpm cuz u will kick traction before him( VSA off) but when 350 kick his traction in, it gones. From a rolling start, put it this way, Double clutch like hell after 3500 rpm! or u're dead.

I don't intend this in a mean way, but do you know what double-clutching is or why you would do it? Perhaps you are thinking of something that is called something else.
Here is a vid of a run we had back in June. Its pretty choppy at first, but about 2 min into the video a 350Z & a 2nd Gen. Supercharged TL-S go heads up. Red wasn't ready the first race, but the second they were pretty close

Double Clutching

"Double clutching" is a technique mainly used in aggressive down-shifting (like from 5th to 2nd to take a corner) to achieve rev-matching between the engine and the transmission.
It won't make any difference in quick acceleration! For more details please refer to the following article:

I owned a '03 350Z 6mt before trading it for the '04 TL 6mt. I had the 350Z up to 125mph before I ran out of road. I felt like I was sitting in a chair in my home. No buffeting, smooth as glass ride. I have yet to take the TL to 100mph, mainly because I don't feel as confident with the suspension being able to handle the speed. The Tl has a softer ride in comparison. The quickness of both cars is close but I would give the edge to the 350Z although just slightly.
I was pretty even with a stock (I think) Z on the Expressway up to around 110mph. We both switched to another Expressway at which point he did not keep up around a long, long turn. There is plenty of buffer room on either side so I figured I'd give it a shot with the TL. I felt like it was going to lose it but it did stick nicely around the turn at about 100mph.
Very scary but I am much more confident in the handling of this car since then. I didn't see the Z after that, he must have thought I was fucking crazy... which I am.

If that is your version of taking an indirect shot at my post, please note that the Z driver obviously slowed down intentionally approaching the turn. I thought that would have been apparent to everyone., but I should have made sure to put that in there.
If I mistook your intentions, then my apologies. If I was correct then next time please pull up your skirt and say what you mean.

Then like I said, my apologies.
Just read my post and then yours. I thought it was a sarcastic remark regarding me losing the Z in a turn.
I agree, no reason to compare a Z and TL. But as long as they are two cars on the road, they will be compared by someone.
