303 Aero Question

After reading the numerous posts about this product, I tried it and was very pleased with the results. I did notice that the first application to the steering wheel hub looked uneven and splotchy. I redid it, making sure that the cloth was saturated w/303 and that the area was completely covered. That was a month ago. Now, looking at the hub from the passeger's seat, it again appears splotchy, with areas that are darker than others in a random pattern. Any thoughts and ideas appreciated. Thanks.

Before applying 303 next time, clean the area first. You may have applied the 303 to an area that had some dirt, or perhaps oils from your skin. Also, after 3 to 5 minutes, the material has soaked in any 303 that it can take. So be sure to wipe off any excess after a few minutes.

This post may be better suited in the Wash/Wax section. This forum has several detailing gurus as members who are quick to help out when they can.

One thing that works well for me with 303 is to let it dry a little bit by waiting about 5-10 minutes after application. At that point, I buff the area with a dry cloth. This has worked very well at filling the bare spots and giving my dashboard, steering wheel and door panels a nice, long-lasting finish. Sometimes, if there appear to be too many bare spots after the initial application, instead of buffing with a dry cloth, I apply a very small amount of 303 to the buffing cloth, and that works well.
