I didn't vote for the BMW 5 Series or MB E class because they didn't strike me as "entry" level luxury sport sedans like the rest in the list. I think they go well beyond that especially when you consider price. Also you might consider the Saab 9-5 in addition to the 9-3, and the Volvo S-60. Just my $0.02.

Well, my second choice wasn't a sports sedan. 2nd choice was a used Lexus LS430, but the TL is so much better looking, and I'm too young to have the same car as my Dad.

M-series is too costly... it's not the car for everyone to enjoy...

I didn't vote since there was no choice for the new Nissan Maxima. When i bought this car i was looking for SIZE and price, so it was the maxima and the new chrysler 300.
I always loved how my maxima performed but the new one looks curvy. the 300 exterior looks great but imo more for "older" people, and the interior just don't like the plastic crap all over. but the 300 did have bluetooth.

The TL had everything i wanted to mod in my maxima and more. such as blue lights in various places in the car, white color digital display for time, brushed metal trim, dual exhaust, etc and BLUETOOTH

Before looked at the TL in person i expected the bluetooth to function like the BMW's ie. browse phone book on navi screen.

Here was the idea maximahttp://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/212763, he put in blue lights for all window switches, key ignition and g35 style led tailights.

I really dont know if this would classify as a sports sedan, but my father owned a 1999 Jaguar XJR and that god damn cat was so fast. I was able to whip that car around every single corner I encountered nothing was able to keep up. With 370hp and 390ft/lb torque coming from that motor nothing could touch it. I almost got that car but the dealer gave him a great trade in price on his new one...too bad I couldnt take that trade in for my TL...in any event, the XJR was one of the best sport sedans i have ever sat behind the wheel of, and belive me, we shopped around...BMW, MBZ, etc. The Maseratti was amazing but at the time the quatroportte wasnt out. After the TL however, Its second only to the XJR.

I do not know your price range but I bet the BMW 5 series is the most expensive car in your list and by far.

In any case, I will pick a 540i 6-speed.

I wish BMW continued to build 4 door M3s; havent seen them since the last decade. That will be an excellent choice.

Forgot to mention, if you are not able to reach the 5 series, I will consider an 02~03 Nissan Maxima SE 6-speed. Those are awesome, with Navi and titanium edition (03). You might wanna be able to find some at autotrader.

My second choice was the TSX. I thought it carved the road better, but I needed the extra room in the TL.

FYI the E39 was a 540 the current E60 is the 545i with a 4.4L 8 pot.

I voted for the G35. While it is lacking heavily in the luxury department its a solid car and I was VERY close to getting one over the TL. It came down to the interior for me. But the G35 is very spory and very fun. If I was allowed to get a RWD car I would have a G35 coupe hands down.

You have to include the Acura TSX, Nissan Maxima SE and Subaru Legacy GT Limited. And with the E-class in there, you might as well have the 06 GS Lexus, the new M Infiniti and the RL Acura. That's your $30 bracket or $60 bracket really.

We had our mind all but made up on the G35. But while we we're waiting to close on our house, I couldn't ge the interior and the back end out of my mind. They are just hideous.

So, we hit the pavement again and decided ont eh TL followed by the BMW 3 series.

If the 330xi was a little cheaper we would probably have one now.

i did forget to add the 9-5, and i might add the sub. legacy and maxima but i used 3 different mags. motor trend, car and driver and road and track..... there was a comparison of the top of the line 300c and it was compared wit an ENTRY LEVEL bmw 530 i think and an ENTRY LEVEL mb e320 in addition to other cars in this poll....

how about the Audi A4? Similar price. AWD is a major plus. Perf not too bad. But their problem is the precieved maint. costs.

the 525 starts at $41,000 and the e320 starts at $49,000.....just think about it, theres no way an eclass or 5 series could start at high 30's when the 3 series and the c-class can start in the mid 30's

i c ur point, but i didnt whant 2 take them away cuz in any retrospect, they r also what people would hav gotten if the tl wasnt there anyway but i had a moder change the poll, included tsx, legacy and maxima, changed mb e to mb e 320 srry but thats what i meant and iff u meant lik an e500, im srry for doing that, trying to make it more ummmm.... fair
srry for the changes.... i was going 2 change the 5 series to 525i but 30 people voted for that while only 3, now 4 have voted for the mb

SRRY!!!

Yes, for me the G35 was the only other car that matched the size/cost/performance criteria for me. The TL won hands-down for me, but the G35 would still be at the top of the short list of cars to look at if I had to give up the TL for another sedan.
