From 2k2 Maxima 6spd to 2k5 TL Auto
Just picked up my new 2k5 TL last week and sold my 2k2 Maxima today. I loved my maxima at first so I dont want to get my hopes up to high about the TL. The Maxima drove very tight but it always felt like a wheel was out of balance, even though they weren't. It got to the point where I hated driving it. Any body go from a 5th gen Max to a TL?

Luckily, I havent gotten to the point where I hate driving my 02 Maxima. (The VQ35DE continues to give me a great return in the miles-per-smiles category.)
However, the TL is a great ride. Good luck with it.

I have a 2002 Maxima SE 6-speed right now and really like it. Love the torque! I get my 2005 TL 6-speed tomorrow so I guess the jury is still out. I am sure I will love it though. The Maxima has amazing power, but sloppy handling (maybe the beam rear axle) even with my Michelin Pilot A/S tires.
I am not sure the TL will be able to outgun the 5th Gen Maxima in a straight line run though.

I had Pilots on it as well, it just felt like something was bent, out of balance, broken............. I had Nissan change the clutch on it TWICE because of first a recall for clutch howl and the 2nd because they fffff'd up the flywheel fixing the first. Had the car aligned, new tokico illumina's, strut tower brace, and still shitty. I think something major was wrong and I probably could of lemoned the car but who knows. Anyways I got the AT on the TL because my commute is stop and go and I never had any good luck with MT's. First my 98 Jetta's tranny case cracked and then my Nissan. The TL is a great car so far, Im going to take it easy and minimize trips to the dealer unless a serious problem happens. Anybody have service from OPEN ROAD ACURA in Wayne, NJ? Any good?

I just got Avon 550 A/S put on my car this morning. The difference between the stock Potenza and these tires is unreal. The Avon have a wider shoulder than stock. These tires are nothing short of awesome, very quiet and grippy. Can't wait to see how they handle the rain.

Test Drive today
I'm on a 03 CTS 5 speed manual, although I have to say I've had great luck and truely enjoy the car. I having the new car bug. And see you guys debating 6MT vs auto. I test drove both, the 6MT is great but the Triptronic shift is great as well. I think i'm going with the Auto. I've been looking @ BMW's, Audi, Volvo, and just found this car reading about those. This car for the money is a no brainer.
other then Bembo brakes on the 6MT the cars are the same.
