258 hp or not?
Did anybody of you saw any official Honda/Acura apology for misleading people with original 270 hp for Acura TL engine?
Even more, I just saw TL commercial on Speed channel and it is still same 270 hp engine. What is going on? Should they officially downgrade TL’s engine to the 258 hp?

You dont see Infiniti doing it, you dont see GM doing it. Most manufacturers said they will not backtest their motors and will only test the new motors in their lineups. (A la the new z06).
This way they all save face because they can never have someone claim their numbers were downgraded. IMO stupid advertising move on Acura's part. They didnt "GET" new customers for being "HONEST." Instead now they seem to be more underpowered in comparison to the g35 sedan, maxima, and altima.
I guess it's a good thing that most TL buyers arent buying it because it has 270 or 258 hp.

Horsepower is irrelevant. Yes, you heard me horsepower is irrelevant.
What we, as consumers care about is how fast a car accelerates (0-60 and 1/4 mile) and how fast it ultimately goes (mph).
HP is irrelevant as a stand alone measure of these statistics. 270hp or 258hp, a TL will still out-accelerate my 300hp Chevy Silverado 4x4 and reach a higher top speed. And a 180hp Lotus Elise will spank the crap out of a TL.
Where hp and torque might be relevant is if you as a driver weigh 450 lbs and try to duplicate results obtained by a 150lb test driver. Or as a measure of any improvement you might make in tuning the engine.
The only thing that matters in how fast a car will go, is how fast the car will go.
