Hello everyone. My name is Ward I am going this Friday to look at a 2008 TL type S auto in carbon bronze with taupe/ivory interior...

The car has 33k miles and is certified used from an acura dealership. carfax is clean, one owner....dealership had it originally listed for $26.5 they have agreed to sell it for $24.9..

Are there any specifics I should check out on the car or look for before purchasing? I look forward to contributing to the form and avoiding the mod bug... as much as possible, anyway...but I don't want to buy a shady example of the breed...thanks

 

Normally, there isnt any specific problems with these cars.
Carfax should be used as a tool to help you with your decision.
another way to be educated is to take the car to a mechanic that you trust and have him look over the car, to see if there any obvious signs of abuse.

make sure all the VINS on the body match.

VIN LOCATIONS
Under the hood, sides of all the doors, rear bumper near the tail-lights, trunk lid at the bottom, and on the front bumper, just under the headlights (needs to be pulled off) and as well the side fenders. There is one also under the hood on the metal (body colored) under the winshield.

Check for obvious things: Tires, air filter, does it hesitate when accelerating?

The Acura TL-S is an awesome ride. No recalls that I know of either.

yep, ended up getting a 08 cbp type s.....long story...when to the dealership on Friday to get the one I had been planning to get all week. Ended up it had a cracked bumper and the stealership would only lower the price $250....so I left. I turns out another dealership had the same exact car traded in the day before, so I went out today and bought one. Glad I waited, this second one is in mint condition, 29k miles. One happy camper.

check for dings, the rear bumper for scratches and front bumper cuz of parallel parking. curb rash on the tires

 

Congrats!! You may say that you want to avoid the mod bug....but you are now a member of Azine, and in the wrong place for that!! I was once like you...1 month ago LOL!!
