2008 TL-S Black on Black only 3k miles!
Hey guys.. So I was helping one of my friends find a TL Type-S and I came across this..
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...6336&ad=spprss
2008 TL Type-S Black on Black with only 3k miles! for asking price of $27,995.
Carfax is clean as well.
I think this price is a steal. I went to go look at it with him, he loved it minus the black interior, he wanted the cream interior to go with the black exterior.
But if anyone is in the market or knows of anyone, This is a good deal!
It's located in NJ
Park Ave BMW
Maywood NJ

WOW....this looks great!~ Kinda sucks I spent about the same for mine with WAAAY more miles...lol. Nice find!!!
A Bimmer dealership is selling it so it probably wont have the CPO warranty with it....just something to think about.

The creme interior is pretty nice! It makes the TL-S much more fomal and less boy-racerish. Plus it adds a nice touch to the overall interior of the car! I think they took a leaf out of the german auto makers' books and executed it really well.

++1.....totally agree.
I've got a buddy with a NBP Type S and the creme interior. It looks very good in person!
Nope...there's a pic of the speedo-3,345 actual miles.

yea i agree. white ext with black int is the best.. But i personally don't like the two-tone black they offer for the type-s.
I have a WDP with cream int. I love my car.
@ajt - It looks far from ricey.

I'm sorry you guys; I wasn't trying to bash. After the post I realized that it was probably a thread full of Type S owners.
Let me clarify.
To me, the combination of the quad exhaust, altered tailights, and honeycombed wheels impart a sense of the boy-racer look. Think larger WRX/Evo. That's just not my cup of tea. My taste, well, I'm trying to get someone to swap their wood for my carbon fiber trim. I prefer luxury to sport, though only slightly.
Also, I'm just more of a fan of the pre-MMC TL's.
Don't get me wrong, I'd drive a Type S in a heartbeat (and there's this red one that I see around town that I lust over), but about the only thing (exterior wise) from the '07 that I'll take are the foglights in the bumper, and MAYBE the '07 base tails.
The rest makes the car look busy. Turn signal mirrors are nice, but I dunno. I just can't explain it.
I think they took something and fixed what wasn't broken.
I do like that the Type S has navi standard. And I like the steering wheel, seats, fancy pedals. But it's just a bit much on the outside for me.
Respectfully, and in my humble opinion, I think the '04-06 is the best looking 3G TL.
Again, sorry if I sounded rude guys. I am a huge fan of all TL's. And WTF do I know anyway.
And sorry OP for the thread hijack.

I think I got the worse color of all TLs. Old man Gold. For what I paid, its worth to look at it every day. Also the beige color does not stand out in the open road when I'm speeding so cops dont target me as much. I use to get laser all the time when I had my Silver S2000.

I took me three months to find, and I overpaid for my white on black 6MT TL-S. Worth every penny though, I wouldn't take any other color combonation, even despite the obvious paint mismatch between the bumpers and sheetmetal.

I would overpay on a TL-S 6MT if I had to ..

Low Mileage
Truly a weekend driver, but part of the advantage of being only 1 mile from work so I walk or bike much of my daily commute

I think it is different in some parts of the country. Other members in other threads have said that 6MT TL-S are plentiful where they live, but here in the mid-atlantic that was not my experience. I consider myself lucky to find the car that I did, even though the previous owner's treatment of the car was questionable at best.
It's worth mentioning my specific requirements that I was looking for in the car because I'm sure that they did play a part making my search difficult:
Car I would buy had to be TL-S, WDP exterior, black/silver interior, CPO (for the warranty and financing), manual transmission, and under 30,000 miles.

I bought mine from there and compared to that I overpayed but I did not want black having owned alot of black cars. They look great clean but get dirty too fast and get hazy and swirls which need alot of maintenance to remove. Whoever said the TL-S is ricey is nuts. Its not just an appearance mod. Its a quicker car then the regular TL and has all the bells and whistles. I think anybody with a regular TL secretly wishes they would have spent the extra bucks on the TL-S, not that the base one isnt nice. If I had bought it new, I would never been able to swing the TL-S but buying them used I would not have done it any other way. I drove a 6 speed for 5 years and I got tired of it even with 400hp. An auto is just what I need for my NYC commute. Its a perfect daily driver.
