2008 TL-S battery issues

My battery died and I jumpstarted the car and drove it around. Was working OK - no issues, could drive around while windows were working OK and the drive was OK too. I have an 08 Tl-S with ~140k miles, so it isnt even much.

While driving it around, the dash went off and came back, and I saw the nav screen do the same where it booted up with the Acura flash screen and get to the pincode screen and then it went off and did it again, while driving

Drove the car for 30 mins on the freeway and came back, turned car off, and now its back to the same state - no battery. I just see dim lights on ABS and a couple of other symbols. Battery changed in 2022, and I dont drive that much.

Can you guys please help! I dont want to get it towed to the mechanic or get expensive repairs done - the car is worth just 4k!

any thoughts on what I can do to diagnoze this by myself before I take it in?

Can you test your battery? My guess is it's shot.
Batteries don't last more than a few years these days,

It was working OK till yesterday. It had lost charge when I was out for 4 weeks - I jumpstarted it and it has been running OK for over 2 weeks now...until yesterday. I wanted to clean the terminals because of the corrosion on it, and unhooked both terminals, cleaned it, and put them back on, and thats when the problem started

Could it be a bad battery?

Noob question - how do I test a dead battery?

terminals could be loose, you hit a bump and it looses connection for a split second.

You should get the battery checked out and see if it's health is low due to be being discharged (lead acid batteries hate this, agm are better about it) or if it's healthy and needs a charge.

Also be sure to do idle relearn process after undoing the battery, otherwise the car will not idle/drive right

Thats what it turned out to be - the connections were loose and like an idiot, I had not tightened it enough possibly. Removing them and putting them back on and my car is now starting and everything is working correctly!

Glad you got it sorted, but I was going to add that, for me living in Florida, battery doesn’t last more than 3 years in this car. Must be heat in the engine bay, I have a non-Honda car with the battery away from the engine and even being 6 years old, I’m on the original battery.

went over 10 years on the BMW agm battery in the 760 in my trunk, no battery in my acura/honda has lasted over 4 years in the heat.

Cold weather is hard on the battery hence the reason I clean the terminals every fall as part of preventative maintenance.
