they're still so pricey because there's only like 10 tl-s 6 speeds available for sale nationwide whenever you search

theres a used dealer selling a 2007 KPB TL-S 6 speed with 50k miles for sale for $18,999 3 miles from my house
if i expand the search to 500 mile radius for a TL-S 6spd.. this is still the only result that populates

I just saw one with same color combo in SF Bay for $7k with 155k and ripped up seats and cracked dash.

I like the 3G TLS, but I think they are just overpriced at that point. Am I wrong?

You're not.
Then again, there's a cult following for them.
There aren't many sedans on the road right now that are 20 years old
and STILL look relevant alongside the newer cars.
Add to that that you can get them with a manual transmission and well...
Demand goes up...

I have an 06 MT, not a Type S, but it still amazes me how solid the car feels at 14 years old. I reckon it's better in nearly every way than the majority of brand new sedans. 04-08 TL was Japanese sedans at their best, imho.

Japanese Sedans built in Ohio, I might add...
whenever the good ole boys at work would be like, g'damn rice burners...
I'm like STFU, my car gave Americans jobs!

I agree, though...base or type S...the manual specifically is something special.
I'm telling you...I had a CTS-V and I also have an S4 DSG...quick, fast, power...
but today driving home in the TL-S I had a friggin smile on my face doing my little
blip downshifts to 4th back up to 6th to pass people on the US27.
