I have an 04 base TL, and I'm l----l <- this close to trading it in for an 09-10 SH but I love not having payments anymore lol. And if I do decide to keep it I was wondering what would I need to do an 08 conversion? Besides the bumper, headlights? Fender? Hood? I'm pretty sure we wouldn't need a support frame or anything. And what about pricing? Thanks for any help. I'm still a newb on the site.

Why would you change anything?

I can see if you wanted it to look like a Type-S...but an 04 base looks like an 08 base. The only visual difference is the tail lights, wheels and lower fogs. Interior upgrades are very minor too.

 

Front bumper, Headlights, DRLs, blinking side mirrors, rear bumper.

 

Minor differences that really won't change the car if you're bored of it.

Get the a-spec front lip and drop it. Whole new car. Its what I did this fall when I started looking at new cars. Renewed my interest in the car again.

$300ish shipped for the lip.
A suspension can be had for about $800 if you're going for the no gap look.

 

I have the aspec already, dropped on H&Rs. I took it to a car wash and as I was spraying my front bumper a huge piece of paint chipped off and I panicked and went to the nearest store which was autozone and got touch up paint... Yeah huge mistake ha! From far you can't tell but when you're near you can. I love the way the 08 Type S looks, might as well upgrade my front end since looking at it now hurts.

 

i added the base 07-08 front, grill and fogs to my 04

 

I also did this, but with the Type S grill. Way cheaper than doing a conversion.

 

How much we're the fogs? Did you go through acura?

 

Fogs are from deposit and I think they were $200 for the pair

I ordered all the grille parts thru acurapartsworld.com and the bumper I bought seperatly

 

Meant fogs were from Depo not deposit, darn autocorrect

 

I think the 07-08 is a nice subtle upgrade from the 04-06. The grille is actually bigger plus the lower fogs makes the bumper look very clean instead of having to do the Accord fog mod (no offense!).

I did the 07-08 base upgrade because I felt the Type-S A-Spec was too aggressive for me. Nice and simple is what I like

I'll probably need the side mirrors to finish up the conversion.

 

On my list would be a 2008 TL type S engine swap if it was a manual TL. The TL still got the curves!

 

Well wheels will change up the look more than doing the 08 conversion. Also throwing on a type S aspec rear with the dual tips will change up the look of the rear of the car quite a bit for not a ton of money. Ebay rear lip too.

Might help if you posted what you have/pics if you want suggestions.

Bought mine off eBay from a seller selling new OEM bumpers but I don't see them anymore

 

I'm uploading with my iPad and its super slow. This is my car with my MB Weapons, H&R race springs. Trying it upload another pic with Volks on.

 

Not the greatest looking TL, but not the worst either lol.

 

07-08 headlights and lower fogs are a nice subtle upgrade to the 04-06...of course most people can't tell unless they own a TL...! Nice conversions!
