2008 Acura Lease

Hey guys......

I am thinking about leasing an 08 Acura TL. Anyone know what an estimated payment would run on an 08 lease with say 18k mile limit? I am wondering if I could get it around 400 a month.

I've thought about buying an 07 with say 15-20k miles, but even that would run me 400 a month. So why not lease one for three years and then give it back? Yay? Nay? lol. Not sure what to do.

Yeah I saw that....I am thinking or hoping that I could get a 18000 mile lease for 400 a month if I was lucky. Even if it was 425 a month for 18k miles, I think that is better than buying an 07 and paying 400 a month for it when I can have a brand new car for 400 or 425 a month under warranty the whole time and dump it off in three years. Just makes more sense to me.

Also what if I waited a few more months for the release of the 09 TL? Once they start selling those, wouldn't they offer better lease deals on the remaining 08's to move them off the lot and make room for the 09's?

u should get a better deal toward the end of the year, but i heard they already stop production of the current TL meaning what they have now is going to last them till the end of the year when the new TL comes out in Nov.

I am currently leasing an 08 base TL for $400 per month, 15k per year. No money out of pocket except first payment and DMV fees.

I'm not sure this would be a good idea. When the 09's come out, the values on the 08's will drop further meaning that your car will have less value at lease end. The lower this "residual" rate the higher your payment will be. Dealers seem to be dealing NOW. I leased an 08/Navi for 450/month-36 months, 10k/year and NO money down! I maybe could have done better but was happy not to put anything out of pocket. FWIW

What kind of money did you put down? I am guessing the 1999? Thanks!

Just leased an 08 TL type S yesterday. I got $399 + tax with $1000 total drive off allowing 10K/year. I could have taken an offer of $0 drive off with $425 + tax but went with the lower monthly payments.

Love the car so far but missing my 350Z. She was a good car.

I've never heard of an18K mile lease (not saying it isn't done though); I should think it would raise cain with residual values. I've also been told that 08 TL production has wrapped up. The longer you wait, the less choice you have.

Sorry buddy. Guess I should have taken my time.

Where are you located and how in the world did you get it out of there with $0 down and still a payment of $400?

I stopped by the dealership yesterday and test drove one. First time I had ever driven a TL. Pretty sweet. I can get the 15k mile lease with a down payment of 1600 and then first months payment which puts it at 2k. So I don't know how you got it for 0 down and first month's payment only. Pretty sweet....care to share how you did it? Thanks!

I have a quick question about leasing. If you lease a vehicle do you have to perform all the required maintenance? Like the A1 and B2 service? Is that something that you have to pay or the dealership covers that?

Do you have to do the maintenance? Not really. Leases are generally treated like how most people treat their own cars, meaning some people will go through an entire lease without changing the oil once because they never bothered to change it on the car they owned (minuscule fraction of people that do this) but generally speaking, most people will just do the required maintenance.

And you pay for the service.

Wow...i'm guessing you traded the 350Z in order to get a TL-S for $399 a month?

I did trade in the Z but would have gotten that price whether I did or not. The trade-in only affected whether I used it toward the down payment or paid that out of pocket.

That's fantastic for a TL Type-S - $399 a month is what many people are paying for a base model.

I'd totally pick up a TL-S if a dealer gave me that type of offer...was this for a 2 year or 3 year lease?

It was for a 3 year lease. I think I got a good deal, but no one should be buying a base for that price. As mentioned above, Acura has an online deal $2000 down and $349/mo for the base. Split that extra $1000 down into 36 payments and any dealer should do $1000 down and $376/mo. instead for a base.

For anyone interested, I got my car at Santa Monica Acura. The staff was pleasant and professional. My advice if you buy from there is ask them to NOT wash your car for you. I already have some swirl marks on my NBP from the scratchy brush wash they have.

Um, no. He put:
+ tax with $1000 total drive off allowing 10K/year.
Which means, depending on the tax rate, say 7%, around 2 grand down plus first payment and DMV fees. Total down was in the neighborhood of $2500. If I had put 2 grand plus first mont and DMV fees my payment on a base TL would have been around $340 a month.

Located in upstate NY. Told the dealer I was ready to buy now, I offered $500 under invoice for the car and they accepted. Mentioned I would drive it off the lot next day if they could give me 15K per year, plus it was the 29th of the month and they needed to move cars. Always wise to shop near months end. And because my credit score was so high, I also got the rediculously low interest on the lease, like 1.08% and thats how.

Not sure what you mean. To clear any confusion, when I say total drive off, that included my down payment, first month payment, taxes for that first month payment, and any DMV/additional fees. That came to $1000 total, not $2500. My total monthly payments are $432/mo ($399 + 8.25% LA county tax).

Since residual value is predetermined by Acura, the price of the car for the deal I made was a bit over $32K, which was about $6K below MSRP. For anyone looking to buy/lease a TL, I think this is a great time to pull the trigger. Dealers are looking to sell since tax returns are coming in, and Acura dealers know the 2009 model is due anytime.

$33 x 36 = $1188 + $1000= $2188, yes? Sorry, I was off by $312. LOL

Are you saying I paid $2188 more than you for my TL-S? Is that what you're comparing here? I never claimed that I was paying less and in fact pointed out that you would be getting ripped off paying what I paid for a base.

I stopped by there yesterday and worked some numbers. Didn't have my other car with me that I will be trading in. 2003 Ford Escape XLT 4x4 with about 75k miles on it. I currently owe 7500 on it and I am hoping I can get at least 8500. Anyone think I shouldn't have any problems getting that?

Also the lease was for 15k miles a year. Total out the door was 1600 which included all the fees and first months payment. Monthly payment with tax is like $395. I am getting the Escape detailed tomorrow to make it look good and will be getting it appraised on Wednesday evening. Once I see what they will give me for it, I will go from there. I really hope I can get 8500 out of it. Pay off the other loan on what I owe and then just dump the other 1k on the lease.

Well guys I am stopping by the Acura dealership today after work to get the 03 Escape appraised. I had it detailed last night and it looks sharp. I also have listed on Ebay and Craigslist to see if I can get any hits. Depending on what the offer is I may decide to sell it on my own, or if the dealership can give me around 8500-9000, then I will just trade it in and not even worry about it. Either way I will probably have a new Acura within the next week or so.

First thing I want to do is get the windows tinted a little. With summer around the corner it might not be a bad idea to protect the interior. Next up will be looking for some A-Spec wheels and the kit....oh yeah.

Kelley Blue Book is 6,500 trade in with a good rating. I don't know how loaded up your escape is.

I looked it up with my options and hit 8200 on trade and 10,500 to a private party. No way in hell I trade it in for 6500. Reason is my father is the manager of a Ford dealership at home and on the used car lot they had an 01 XLT Escape, same options as mine with 115k miles and they sold it for 9k even to a couple. Sure they made a killing on it, but he said it wasn't as nice as mine. I've taken excellent care of mine, but if they offer 6500 for it, I will just drive it over to his dealership and have them sell it for me. I know it would sell for around 10k maybe 10,500 if I was lucky sitting on a dealership. Pay the salesmen that sold it for me 500 bucks and stick a little over 3k in my pocket. Even if it sat there for three our four months, I will stick come out ahead easily. For what I make on, that will just make my monthly payments on the lease till it runs out...lol.

Good Deal?

I have been shopping around for a 2008 TL Type S and want to lease the car.

So far the best deal I got was from $39389 they deducted 4990 on the spot. My trade is worth $8000, they said to put $5000 down and the rest they'll write me check for $3000 to keep. So the price down to 29,399 (including tax) to a $377 monthly.
So I said I had to think about....then he sad he going to give me an extra $1000 in cash to a total of $ 4000. After that I told I still had to think about and give him the old excuse "hava to talk to the wife" and left.
So im thinking of going back this weekend with the same incentive but instead of 377 per month I tell him to bring it down all the way to $340 a month Ill buy the car on the spot. At $350 ill think about....

Let me hear...

I am assuming the 5000 down was coming from the trade and then they were going to give you 3k from the value of the total trade of 8000? If so that is a good deal. Then you managed to get another 1k to stick a total of 4000 in your pocket. Also what were the yearly miles? 10K or 15K? The deal I am looking at is the 15k mile lease. Good luck this weekend. Wish I could get the same deal as you are getting.

Lesson number 1. It's not smart to put any money down on a lease. If you don't know the reason why, you shouldn't be leasing in the first place.

Ok so I swing by the dealership yesterday and this is what they would give me on an 08 TL with Navi....

They wanted me to put 3500 down and that is including all fees, license, title, taxes, and first months payment with a monthly payment with tax included of 400 a month. This was for a 15k mile lease.

Ok so tell me, how did they manage to go from 349 a month for a 10k mile lease with 1500 down to the deal above? I only went up 5k more miles and the payment went up 51 bucks more a month plus another 2000 down? Doesn't that seem a little odd for 5k more miles a year???

What do you mean? So I would be better off putting 0 down and having a bigger monthly payment? So instead pay like 450 a month with 0 down than put 3500 down and have a payment of 349?

So im thinking of going back this weekend with the same incentive but instead of 377 per month I tell him to bring it down all the way to $340 a month Ill buy the car on the spot. At $350 ill think about....

Let me hear...
Well I bought it yesterday and managed to get the price down to $350 a month including tax for the type S with $5000 down from trade in on a 10k miles lease ......;P
My trade in was worth $9000 so for the rest they wrote me a check of $4000.

Sweet...gonna pick it tomorrow....color carbon bronze.

Man that is a shit load down, but I am assuming the car was paid off, so either way that was cash in your pocket. 350 a month, new Type-S and 4k in your pocket...not bad. The 4k alone will make several payments...lol. Have fun getting the car.

Yeah the car was payed off.......and I was trying to keep the monthly payments low. If I really enjoy the car Ill probably buy it at the end on the lease. The buying price at the end of the lease will be $21,000.

but who knows....time will tell......maybe a TL type S AWD might be in the future...
