2007 TL Type-S Hood Strut Question

Hey all,

I did some searching on the forums first and didn't find the exact answer yet regarding hood struts. Doing my research here, I found that most people buy this part number from rock auto:
SG326009
When I go there, it says its for a TL (2004-2005)

My question is, will this work on a 2007 TL Type S? I doubt in general there is any difference in the hood strut for a non type s and type s. I just wanted to make sure this part number will be compatible with my vehicle.

Thanks!

04-05 use a different part than 06-08.

06-08 TL: 74145-SEP-H01; 74149-SEP-H01
04-05 TL: 74145-SEP-A01; 71749-SEP-A01

I honestly don't know the difference and it would probably work. But I'm such a perfectionist when it comes to these things that I would only buy the part that specifically fits my vehicle.

Thanks. Yeah i figured the 06-08 use a different OEM part number.
What about for the aftermarket part? I remember once I read here someone installed the SG326009 on 2006 but I may be incorrect

This might help https://www.google.com/search?q=SG32....acurazine.com

Edit: based on your own research, it seems that the aftermarket part application is also only good for 04-05 TLs.

Did a little more digging....

So Sachs has two part numbers:
SG326009 which is 04-05
AND
SG365001 which is 06-08

The issue is that no one has the SG365001 online to order it.
But doing more research the SG326009 should fit based on the users on this forum....

(post #6) ..apparently they have been installed on a 07' Type S....granted its not the EXACT matching part number I think this would be a low risk buy...

Any other members here who have bought the SG326009 for 06-08 and had no isssues?

Chances are Honda had Sachs re-design the struts for the 2006 because of the problems with these things crapping out so quickly (mine have been bad for at least 3 years). This accounts for the different part number.
