2007 TL-S fair price to offer

Hi there!

Recent lurker, first time poster...

I'm looking at a used 2007 TL-S (Silver ext, Grey int) 5sp auto from a 2nd owner with 37k miles on it (2nd owner only had the car for a year and put maybe 9k on it). It is in great condition, garage kept, no mods, no accidents, carfax from first owner.

The asking price is $24,500, but it seems a bit high for me, even in good condition. a local Acura dealer has 2 CPO TL-S's (a 2007 black with 60k and 2008 carbon with 60k) and they are asking $25k. I'm wondering what a fair asking price is for this one? I will be checking out the car today.

Thanks in advance!

I think $24.5 is not too bad for a clean Type S with less that 50K miles. See if you can get them down to $23.5K to $24K.

CPO is nice to have but if it were me I would get the one with lower miles and pay for an extended warranty. I used Curry a while back when I had my CLs. It ended up being about $1000 for a bumper to bumper warranty up to 100K. Much better than CPO IMO.

Oh, i didn't clarify: the 37k mile one is a private seller, not dealer.

I got that. Nothing wrong with getting a car from a Private Seller as long as you can get a good enough financing rate. Hell, half the cars you find at a car dealership is from a lease return or an auction.

You're probably better off getting one from someone that took care of it.

And as I found out CPO don't mean shit. Looks like all they did with mine was slap a sticker on the windshield to draw people in. The didn't do half the stuff they were supposed to do.

Not a bad price for the milage. I would offer them 23,500.
I bought a mint 2008 TL-S with 59k for 21,000. It just had 60k service done, new pads and tires.

Sounds like a fair price to me if the car is clean. If your financing there are places to get excellent rates right now. I current have my 07 TLS financed at 2.99% I bought it used from first owner.

So looks like I'll be a TL-S owner.

I checked out the car yesterday. Aside from a few paint chips on the front end from normal driving, the car was immaculate and looked brand new inside and out. It still has a transferable certify warranty from Acura.

We settled for $24k. Now to deal with the bank(s)... I managed to get a 3.07% rate.
