2007 TL-s Center High Mounted Stop Light

I just bought my 2007 CBP TL-S auto w/nav in June. The production date is 05/07. I found that the Center High Mounted Stop light on my TL flashes (bright & dim) 4 times each time you apply the brakes. It stays on bright after the 4th flash. Is this new on the 2007's, I called a dealer here in Calif and they were unaware of the feature and wanted me to bring the vehicle in. If anyone else has this feature on there type-s let me know. Maybe I got one thats truly different. I just haven't seen any others that flash.

1st Post, Thanks

Hi all, maybe this was not the best 1st post. I just saw a NBP TL-S today in Riverside, CA. Curious to my first post, I followed it and saw that the third brake light did not flash as mine did. I've seen that several have viewed, but no post. Please let me know if the flashing third brake light is normal. This is my first acura and I'm really impressed with the TL-S, this car really rocks.....

Thanks

Dealer installed a third brake light module. They were popular around 2000 - 2002 but were causing accidents because people did not know if you were really braking. Have them remove it when you go in for service.

I think he was talking about having the module removed....not the actual 3rd brake light

Don't know if they changed anything for the 2007, but the my shop shows that the third light is on the same circuit as the tail lights, and it is just a resistor and some LEDs. Maybe just a loose connection? Try popping the cover loose and checking that the 2-wire connector is snug (it's easy to remove the cover).

well, if he says everytime its after the 4th flash it stays bright, that might be a aftermarket flasher module installed, some people pay to have that done. if it was put there on purpose, don't remove it, its actually pretty useful. flashing leds gets more attention from behind then just on and off.
