2007 Gauge Bezel fit 2004-2006?
I like how there are silver accents on the gauge bezel of the 2007's. Does anyone think it'll fit on 04-06's? I can't really tell by the pictures that I've seen.

Only if I can score one at a junkyard. But I may try the $17 bezel...

2007 Gauge Bezel
I thought the same thing when I saw the pics of the 07 Type S interior. "I've gotta get that guage bezel when it becomes available!"
I love the interior of my TL, but that's one thing that I think the designers kind of skimped on. I was originally going to send mine it to Custom Dash for the carbon fiber treatment, but i wasn't sure how well it would match. I would much rather have this.
I'm thinking that it will be an exact fit due to the way the main dash components are configured in a model refresh like this. Acura does not want to incur the cost of making assemply line changes due to dash configuration changes. Components will be kept the same size so the assembly process will be the same. The actual guage components will change in design only because Acura can have the guage manufacturing vendor change the appearance and design, but the actual dimensions of the guages will remain the same. At least that's what I'm betting.
We'll see when the 07's hit the showroom in late October.
I'm not sure when the part will become available, but I don't think it cost much more than the existing part. I'm guessing around twenty bucks. That will be a sweet deal for a nice looking guage mod.

the only way the plastic peice is a direct swap is if acura didn't change the angle of the clear lens. i very much doubt they would change that peice, but you never know

Unless the rings are removeable, and they fit... this'll be a no go. bummer.

MID Buttons
Check out Car & Driver.com. They have a crapload of pics of the interior. I Found several of the angle from the right side of the dash. The MID buttons are definately gone, but.... and that's a BIG BUTT....If this thing fits the guages I guarantee there's a way to adapt it. I'm gonna give it a shot when the part becomes available. I'm pretty good at that sort of thing (see the Accord Remote Key Fob Mod) so when I do make the leap I'll post pics.

So the question becomes, how do you put those buttons in a bezel that ain't got no holes in it.
Somone will dremel it in there.

The closeness of the gauges may be an optical illusion due to the way it was photographed. I would be interested in seeing what it would take to move the MID buttons to the steering wheel. That would be cool!

The whole MID display moved to the center gauge and looks like it is higher resolution LCD. The swap might be worth that alone!

Outside the cost ($500+), adapting a cluster to your car may be more difficult than you think.
Odds are:
1) It's tied to the ECU or Nav system, which means it may not work. Unless those calculations are made inside the cluster itself (highly unlikely), the MID serves as a display for the ECU's output. If th ecoding isn't there to begin with, it ain't gonna display. Ypi may able to plug an 07 TL-P ECU directly in, and it work, but I wouldn't try that without a serious study of the wiring diagram differences oh, and there's anoteher $400+).
2) To adapt a new cluster to your car usually requires some form of dealer generated Secret Key Code. This prevents you from buying a new cluster and installing it in your ragged out TL with 70,000 miles... then selling it as new with low miles. I'm intimately familiar with this in the VW/Audi world, where we made friends with a dealer who would generate thesecodes for us to perform the adaptation if we bought the clusters from him.
Needless to say, any mod that requires dealer interction quadruples the complexity factor. This ain't a plug an play retrofit, just because the gauges fit into the hole though.
I've only seen a limited few folks here post that would have the technical wherewithall, or the ability to find and RTFM to figure it out. if someone could point me to where I could aquire a true dealers Electronic Service Manual and ready access to 2006 and 2007 wiring diagrams, I'd be glad to start the research.

2007 S Gauge Bezel is Ordered
I've ordered the part. I should have it in a week or so. I will post an update when I get it. Looks like the part ( 77200-SEP-A02ZB) will cost around 43.00 from Sunnyside Acura.

Where There's A Will There's A Way.
I'll make it fit if I have to take a hammer and a torch to it!
Seriously though, I think it can be done, and done well. I'm willing to be the Guinea Pig, as after two years of staring at that blank, black gauge bezel and trying to think of a way to dress it up a little I have no doubt that the result will be good. I'll keep you guys posted.

Well, I Did It! But Kids! Don't Try This At Home(56k Beware)
Success, but damn! It was a bitch, and I don't recommend this mod to to the beginner or the squemish. It was tough! It took me about six hours of cutting, and filing, fitting, and some more filing, then some more filing, and some more fitting, etc. I ended up about an 1/8 of an inch off of level, but it looks very good. The untrained eye would not be able to tell the difference from stock.
Like I said, I'm not sure how many of you want to attempt this mod. I'm sure someone can come up with a better way to do it. I'm glad I did it cause it looks great, but I wish I had better news for you guys. When I first looked at the new gauge bezel, I thought this will be a snap, because the gauge rings come loose from the 2007 S bezel, but I soon became disappointed because the original bezel is all one peice so there was no way to add the rings to the stock bezel.
The first pic shows the stock gauge bezel being removed. The switches attach to the bezel. That was problem number one as there are no switch mounting posts on the 2007 S bezel on that side. See the next pictures that compare the backs of the bezels. I made a template with masking tape from the stock bezel and transferred it to the new bezel. I think that that's where I got the layout a little off as the tape tends to stretch a little when you remove it. I tried to compensate when I laid it on the new bezel. I outlined the holes with a scribe, pierced the plastic at the corners of the cutouts with a drill bit large enough to allow the saw blade to enter, and used a coping saw with a fine blade to do the initial cut outs. It was very slow going and demands a lot of patience. Once I made the cutouts I used the MID switch to compare the necessary opening sizes and used jewler's files to shape the holes for as perfect of a match as I could. Again, you have to be very patient with the process. I was tempted to give up a couple of times, but I kept on working the openings until the switch fitted just right.
To mount the switch I used two 1/4 x 1/2 inch nylon posts purchased at Lowes in the specialty hardware. The one that went at the back of the switch had to have about a 1/4 inch cut off of it to make the switch level with the bezel. I screwed the switch to the posts and epoxied them in place with Quickset J.B. Weld. Held it in place for about five minutes and then let it set for about an hour before I re-installed it.
I took the rings off while I did all of this to prevent damage to them and as they are painted a Charcoal Grey Silver (I think the S's aluminum trim is kind of a titanium color) I repainted and clearcoated them in a Satin Siver to match the TL's Shift Bezel, Speaker Trim etc.
Let me know what you guys think!

I'm wondering what the plain 07 TL ones look like. If the MID controls have been moved to the steering wheel on them, and if they have the removable rings that could be painted. When I looked at them on the Acura pages it appeared that the 07 TL's bezel was the same as the 07 S except the rings were not painted. Can anybody confirm those things?

That looks awesome and actually doesn't look that hard, though you would know best. I would just be concerned about how well the cutouts looks in person. The new trim though looks great.
