2007 BMW 335i vs MANY CARS (videos/pictures/stories!)
you guys were right, I can't seem to hold onto a car for long at all.
sold my 2006 Subaru Legacy GT, what really made me sell it was after the transmission broke and they rebuilt it with bullshit gears which were complete crap and the cars gearing topped out at 130mph...it was bad.
Anyways, sold it and 4 days later picked up a nice 2007 BMW 335i 6 speed auto with cold weather and sport package.
This is my first by choice automatic vehicle, I thought for daily driving it'll be a good choice and the paddleshifters are actually a boat load of fun I have to admit, anyways here it is, bought with 44k miles, one owner from Arizona!

Literally the same week I purchased the car I picked up a set of pretty nice winter tires, 90% tread left, Dunlop Winter Sport M3 tires and some off brand 5 spoke alloy wheel, $600.

After sitting on forums and such, the mod bug hit me...this time for speed verses appearance and well I hit up my buddy Jim and picked up a brand Cobb Accessport for $772 (overnighted) to my house!
Flashed it on, Stage 1 Aggressive tune (93 octane) no other mods, and started calling people out so I can see where my car would have a set bench mark at.
First race was a modded 2010 (i think) Hyundai Genesis 2.0t coupe, stage 2.5 (stock turbo housing, beefed up guts) with everything else being modded, apparently he put 300rwhp down.
^40-120/130 rolls.
After stomping that, I stayed quiet for a while till my buddy who has an M5 with exhaust/intakes called me out, so i said I know I'll lose, but lets see by how much? So here it is, I'm def happy with how close my car stayed.
Then to finish this post off, a quick 60-130 pull
Let me know what you guys think!
Also, tonight I ran into a Subaru Legacy GT, which is funny because I've be craving to run one, we ran from a DIG (my car is rear-wheel drive) in this snow/ice/rainy weather, I spun all of first, second and part of third and still managed to put 2 car lengths on him by 80mph. If it was a nice dry day, I would have completely eaten him a live.

Nice 335i, man. I took an '07 6AT out for a spin a couple years ago and loved it. Same setup, with the CW and Sport Packages. My TL felt like a boat afterward, but not really that much slower from 50 mph +, although that obviously changes after a tune for the BMW. The torque, seats, ergonomics, gauges (in that order) were so much better though. I'd have to drive a 6MT to really know for sure, but it's an automatic I could live live with; the paddles were a fucking blast.

Very nice man. Looks like you've been through a bunch of rides over the years, getting better and better. Good luck.
Wish you were closer to Houston, would love to get a run of video vs. the Vette for AZ.![Tongue](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Safe travels man.

Thanks guys, much appreciated it! Been driving pretty calm, try not to beat on it much because I know how BMW can be very sensitive with senors and stupid crap, so unless it's a worthy race or someone is picking on me, I'm barely going over 3.5k rpm. lol
Yes a run against the Corvette would be pretty fun, I'd lost pretty hardcore but I'd def give you a good run if I ran race gas, or even had an E85 tune.
With this blizzard that came through Ohio, it's been tough getting out of snowy places or getting up hills/ramps. Hell I work at a dealership and drove a 2009 528xi and even that got stuck in slushy snow, which made me relax, Subaru honestly has the BEST AWD system ever, I NEVER got stuck in my Impreza or Legacy and I always had less than 40% tread on my ALL SEASON tires.
So the goal is to pay EVERY penny while keeping my bank account at $1000 in case of emergency, then I'll buy a subaru legacy wagon non-turbo on auction for dirt cheap and put the BMW under a cover on rainy days and throughout the whole winter.

Burning Brakes
A friendly word of caution, I strongly suggest having more like $4K in the bank for a 335 rainy day fund and expect to put in about $1,000-1,500 in annual maintenance. I have a few aquaintences that own BMW 335s and know a couple of techs at Baron BMW in Kansas City. These things are very pricey to maintain, especially if they're not covered by any sort of warranty. At around 4 years and 50K miles, suspension parts and various bushings start going. The techs tell me most any time your 335 shows up at the shop for a problem, it's going to cost the owner on average ~$700+. If there's an issue with turbos, the imfamous wastegate rattle, HPFP (if they see you have a tune), etc. then the sky's the limit.

I absolutely love these cars and the motors and seriously considered a CPO used 08/09 335 coupe prior to getting my WRX, but I decided I'm not at that point in my life to deal with used German car maintenance and repairs.

I talked to my buddy who is a BMW tech in Texas, says it's not possible for them to see the Cobb AP tune being on there, so that's something I won't have to worry about since it's plug and play, hopefully he's right lol.

long time...no update?
Nothing much is new with the car, didn't like how Cobb responded with it so I sold my AP and purchased a set of coilovers instead, also picked up a set of 19x9 and 19x10 BMW Style 95 Wheels.
Also deleted my muffler for a quad tip custom exhaust I'll have fabbed up within a month or 2.
How the car sits now.

Next buy is tires, finish exhaust, then a rear diffuser, taillights, trunk lip and front bumper splitter
Also, a guy here in ohio has an 07 Acura TL-S N/A, cammed...so on so on, 210shot of nitrous made 550whp and 540wtq
Things no joke, beast.

After a few months, I got a new and much better paying job, so I started modding again.
My first purchase was a slighty used Active Autowerke Chargepipe, paid $350.00 for it from a friend of mine.
I got that installed with some friends and from there I purchased a brand new set of BurgerMotorsports Dual Cone Intakes ($112.00) lol, but with them on it really woke the car up with how it sounded, turbo was loud and the bov was loud as well now.
I then finally bought a used JB4 piggyback tune with the latest G5 board and software. I had my buddy German install it for me as he's very familiar with JB4. He showed me the ropes, and I got my ass straight to the local gas station with E85 after I filled it up and set the Map to 5 (autotune)...my life changed for the better.
My 335i felt INSANELY a live, I mean WOW. Coming from 8psi stock boost to 50% E85 50% 93 pump, bolt on's and 18.5psi my car felt like a whole new breed.
Long story short, I started calling people out for some fun races on my local car group.
I only have this one video up right now, but I have raced a lot of people...I'll post those videos up this week for you guys.
This was my most reason race...a 450whp Nissan 240sx, his injectors were getting worn out and his manifold was leaking (boost was creeping from 12psi to 18psi at redline) but yes he DID dyno 441rwhp on a MUSTANG DYNO, no bullshit...it's true.
The other runs I have is me running a Twin Turbo 350z (twin GT28's), 340awhp and 320awtq Bugeye WRX, and a full bolt-on Mustang GT (2V)

My 335i again verses my buddies built motor twin turbo 350z
twin GT28 turbos on 12PSI, pretty much wastegate pressure lol!
460whp/440wtq, car needs different gearing or like...driver mod? idk, he should have beat me
The LAST race i shifted from 3rd to 5th (auto with paddleshifters) and shifted back down to 4th but it was to late, he was gone.
