2007 Acura TL w/ Navigation System For Invoice

I was offered a 2007 Acura TL w/ Navigation System for invoice. Is that a good deal or will I be able to go lower? The car's for my uncle and he won't be buying until towards the end of December so I was just wondering if anyone has gotten their 2007 Acura TL w/ Navigation System for lower than invoice because I still have time to deal.

I'm not allowed to mention the dealer, but I was offered $2,500 below invoice on a 2006 Acura TL w/ Navigation System by the same dealer. My uncle wants the 2007 MY though.

If you & your uncle get it for invoice, jump at it if he really likes the TL. I was at Open Road a few days ago and the sales manager acted like he was doing us a favor by taking off $1K. For us the line in the sand is at $34K. The dealer will still make something including the holdback. I would like to know the dealer you're getting the '07 TL/navi at invoice. Maybe you can give me a hint.

BTW, I don't blame him for wanting the '07.

dampfnudel, have you tried emailing all the Acura dealers in NY/NJ (maybe within a 50-75 mile range)? That's what I did. I told them that I had emailed many dealers and I told them that I knew the MSRP, invoice, and true dealer cost (even at invoice, they're still making a $1,000 profit on the 2007 Acura TL due to the holdback) and whoever offered me the best deal, I'd buy from them. Let them work for you, not the other way around.

I didn't realize the holdback was that much on the '07 TL - $1,000. Of course, one time I mentioned the holdback (a few months ago on a '06), they said it wasn't much.

It's 3% of base MSRP (http://www.edmunds.com/advice/incent...ack/index.html). Also, weren't you looking at a 2007 Infiniti G35 also?

Oh, I was going to say that I could probably get you a 2007 Infiniti G35 for $500 over invoice.

When are you planning on buying your TL? I can ask my dealer if they'll be willing to offer the deal to a friend.

I've decided not to buy the 2007 Infiniti G35x AWD. I'm just going to hang on to my 2005 Acura TL w/ Navigation System until the 2009 Acura TL (4G) comes out in 2008. I'll definitely ask my dealer if they'll offer the same deal (or if I manage to get a better one by the end of December) to a friend. Good luck.

just read the holdback article

so does that mean we should buy car for invoice - 3% hold back?

Doubt that would work since they would make $0 on that deal.

Nope. Most dealers won't give up their holdback unless they have other factory to dealer incentives or rebates. Just mention holdback if the dealer tries to tell you that they won't make a profit if they sell you the car at invoice. This is untrue because they'll make at least a $1,000 profit because of the holdback. I used the holdback to get the price down to invoice plus free accessories.

it is end of 2006 so dealers readily give out 2006's for 2000-2500 under the invoice, especiall with the marketing incentive that goes on (check edmunds.com). As far as 2007s for invoice, that is a great deal..Acura advertises 3.9% apr on my local TV channels (Baltimore, MD).

Hopefully for prospect buyers of a used 3rd gen TL, that should make values drop.

Well, it's now December and my best offer on a 2007 Acura TL w/ Navigation System is still invoice ($32,953) plus FREE all-season floor mats, trunk tray, and wheel locks. Should I go for it or has anyone done better?

Hey, I am a newbie and I am planning on buying an 07 tl w/navi at the end of the month/year, maybe on my birthday (the 30th). Do you think I would be able to get that deal (invoice+dest.) in Atlanta? thanks.

that is what I was thinking. I would be extremely happy to get that deal. I would be happy to pay an additional 500. I just hoped that buying at the end of year would help a little.

OMG~i just got a quote from one of the Nor Cal dealer said that
the 07 TL /navi is....
MSRP: $34,295.00
Your New Internet Price Quote: $31,847.00

can you believe this, they are actually selling below invoice?
I just can't believe this~anyone got a quote that low ?

That deal would mean that the dealer is giving up their entire holdback. There aren't any rebates or incentives on the 2007 Acura TL (except the special APR) so something smells fishy.

Ok folks I have yet to find a dealer who will take more than $500 off MSRP much less sell at invoice. Yes I've emailed them and asked.

I find it strange that all these post that say they received an internet quote won't give the name of the dealership they got it from, why?

I don't want the dealer to be hassled with numerous calls asking for the same deal that I got. If you're in NJ I can ask my dealer if they'd be willing to offer the same deal to a friend.

The MSRP is not $34,295.00 for an 07 TL with Navi

The correct price is $36,125.00 plus $670.00 destination with comes to $36,795.00.

So the dealer is either quoting an 06 with navi, or maybe an 07 wothout navi.
He may even be giving you B-LL SH-T just to get you in the door where he will give you the correct numbers and call it an error.

Wait........That would never happen, would it?

Either way, the numbers that they gave you are not correct.

If you want to buy cars into hold back don't expect your dealer to be around when you have an issue, they will be out of business.

Hold back is not profit, hold back covers the costs of operating a dealership. If you think a dealer can keep it's doors open buy selling cars at invoice, you're being naive.

Dealers need heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer.
Dealers need to have lights on in the dealership.
Dealers need telephones.
Dealers need an internet connection.

Even at $100 over invoice, the dealer is losing money.

Hold back is to cover these costs as well as the finance charges due to financing cars on a floor plan.
