ok folks, I recently purchased a 2006 tl and the front end was more or less missing, it had been wrecked, headlights, cooling, bumper assembly, radiator support etc all gone, I recently purchased a pair of headlights off ebay for a tl, come to find out they are tl type-s lights, they look very similar but the inside light bulb will not go in and seat, will the headlights work fine I just need to change that bulb and buy the one for a tl-s and the plug will be the same or ?? Like I said, the mounting tabs and everything look the same, but with not having anything to go by to compare to makes things difficult, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks again.

06 had fogs in the headlamp, and type s has their fogs at the bottom of the bumper. The turn sigals are different. 06 uses 7443 and 07-08 uses 1157. The middle part of the type s is used for drl's. If you use your fog on the type s it will melt the shrouds because fogs are used instead of drl's. The inner bulbs will not function unless you use the right bulbs. many people on here suggest switching the connectors. Plus some are doing foglights mod in which they install at the bottum openings of the bumper. Hope that helps
