2006 TL or 2008 TSX ?

Hello all.

I did have a 2006 TL , which I bought new , went 165,000 miles before AT trans went out.

No sputtering, no check engine light just died. Did 3x1 every 20k miles , never replaced #3 and #4 switches or filter.Got a used 2006 trans installed $1800 from independent Honda mechanic.

So besides replacing trans and starter at 93,000 miles due to bad BOSCH battery , motor mounts at 120k , LACs at 110k and timing belt/water pump

at 130k miles this car was solid. Sold at 265K.

So now I am deciding on 2007 TSX 89k or 2006 TL 68K both in excellent condition ?

Thanks

I'm assuming you've already read about the issues with the 2004-2006 Auto transmissions.
But.. I'd be going for the TL, if it is a manual...

I would say its up to you at this point, the TL is more roomy and more power than the TSX but from what I can see its must be similar asking price. I would pick the TL but if you don't have any body ride in the back seat then the TSX. I had a IS300 before and getting my kid in the back seat is a hassle.

I got the TSX and a year later I wish I got the TL. The TSX is nice. But the TL is better. Depending on what you're looking for.

I was in the same boat doggydog. Originally went around car shopping looking for a 1st gen. Got tired of overpriced or over budget listings that never worked out. Went to go see a TL that was around the same area as a TSX i was checking out. I ended up loving it more than the many TSX's i checked out. Quality of the interior definitely shows. TL is a bit more luxurious. The only downside was gas milage, but wasn't a biggie for me. I would def go for a TL
