2006 SSM 6MT w/Navi - New Member
Whats up guys and gals!?
I originally wanted a 2006 G35 sedan. On Saturday (2/20/10) I sat in and test drove a 2006 SSM TL, and I fell in love. The two cars were priced similar (21,000) with about the same mileage. (31,xxx) I couldn't justify spending that much money on the G35 with the base interior (no nav, interior felt cheap, high engagement on clutch)
Both cars are 6MT, black interior and a silver color.
Like I said, I sat in the TL and it blew me away with all the amenities! Now I felt justified on spending that much coin.
I got it from Sterling Mcall Lexus here in Houston. They played a little game with me saying some one was going to look at it that day, and suggested I take it home for the weekend. Fortunately for them it worked and I was sold on the car. I signed the papers on Monday. out the door, it came out to 23,566. I think I got a fair price for a low mileage non-beat up TL.
This thread is useless without pics!!!!!
And sorry for the blackberry 9700 pics, I'll get decent photos this weekend.
so without further adieu......

Looks like my other 3G TL (the wife's). That one's an '05 automatic/NAV, but it has the two-tone light grey+ interior (don't recall what they call it). My 3G TL is an '04 manual with NAV.
Congrats to you and enjoy.

Congrats on the car.
What always kills me with the TL and G series comparison, they always make the case the G is cheaper. They are talking about a BASE G series with no options compared to a TL with Navi. I looked at a G with Navi before I bought my TL-S, with the same equiptment the G35 is NOT cheaper.

you've got a very rare car man. The 6 speed navi is a very rare combo, esp. in 2006. I think Acura sold the fewest 6mts in 2006, and finding a car with 6mt and navi is already hard enough as it is. Congrats and enjoy.

I'm Just saying for the same price I get a lot more amenities. both cars are $21,000, both have 31,xxx miles, but with the TL I get the Nav and other features.

Welcome!
Do you plan on adding anything to the car? Or are you just going to leave it stock? It's hard to tell, but are the windows already tinted? If not, you should hop on that.
If you plan on doing stuff to the car, look into a new suspension, A-Spec kit, and possibly a set of wheels. That's just to get you started

No it doesn't have tint, and that is first on my list.
I'm sort of torn in modding it. This is my first real mid luxury car sports sedan. It has enough power for what I need. I might do an easy bolt on, cold air or short ram. but thats about it.
I've asked about what a pre cat delete was but didnt get a clear answer.
