Recently, I was about to purchase a 04 TL with a build date of August 15th. I put down $500 to hold that car, and waited. However, after some much internal debate, I decided to go for an 05. I contacted the dealer, renegotiated a few things, and transferred my payment to an 05. I was told that he doesn't know anything about changes for the 05, just that builds will start at the end of August/beginning of September.

Well, I got a call this week from my salesman saying that my 05 order has been placed with an expected delivery of the 1st/2nd week of September. He still doesn't know any of the differences, but he said the Marysville, OH plant has started accepting orders.

I would normally be suspicious. But my salesman has been very nice and honest about a lot of things (Whenever I go into a dealership, I always make it a point to ask questions I know the answer to, just to see if the salesman will be honest. And he's always replied with the correct answer or I don't know). He also has given me a fair price deal for the 05 considering it's a MY pre-order (since we don't know the MSRP, we negotiated some free accessories and free window tinting).

So I thought I would share with the forum and see what you guys thought.

I think in a month and a half we will know what's in an 05 TL.

Also, I can't fault you for your decision as long as you don't mind waiting a few more weeks.

OK I am also going to be ordering a 05 do you mind telling me how much hey gave you off MSRP? my dealer is taking off $1400.00 for me I know they can do alot better.

hey northjerseyacura, do you know which dealer you're buying from?....i've heard good things about Park Ave Acura on Rt. 17 south in hackensack i think it is. i highly discourage anyone to go to ramsey acura in nj,

Hey shawn yes the 1400.00 MSRP was from park ave acura they seem pretty cool in there the salesmen i have seems great they told that they would give me that much off right away no games no bullcrap.... Other dealers i wnt to started with this is a hot car and started saying how they could not even discount off MSRP and i didn't even ask them about price i hate when they give those stupid lines

The allocations for 05TLs and 05RLs were due from the dealers earlier this week. I put down a deposit for an 05TL Anthracite/Quartz 5AT/Navi. I was watching the dealer as he went onto the Acura website to modify his allocation list for my choice. Believe me, the '05 trim info is already out. Exact specs and details regarding 05 changes, if any, are still secret.

I posted in the 05RL thread but for those who didn't see it:

05TL and 05RL allocations were put in on 7/20
The Long Island dealer I was at got 23 TLs and 13 RLs in their allocation.
Sticker prices not available yet

Available colors for the 05TL are unchanged
No AWD model availble for 05TL
05TLs allocated are expected to arrive early to mid Sept.

Available color combos for the 05RL have been previously posted - Notably, NO Quartz leather available
05RLs allocated are expected to arrive mid Oct. (1 month freight delay for Japanese imports)

A two day test drive for the 05RL in the NYC/LI area will be around Sept 8 in Westchester (dealers only - for orientation/education purposes). A few weeks thereafter, models will be available for customer test drives.

i was looking to buy an 05 as well.. so far i've only been to ramsey acura. How bad is it over there? i'll check out park ave when i get a chance. Thanks
