2005 Recall Officially Announced
We've heard this was coming, but it is now official (see link below). Looks like, if you have an '05, you may need to get into the dealer.

I just called Honda and looked on my Owner Link and apparently my 05 TL doesn't fall into this recall. OR they just haven't figured out exactly what vehicles are being recalled... because a few times since I've had the car, it would not start; I'd have to turn the ignition off and retry and every retry was successful at getting it started. And I assume this is what they're referring to?
Wonder when they'll begin notifying people?

Glass half full = don't have to deal with taking car to dealer for recall.
Glass half empty = fuel pump could fail anyway after warranty expires and you would have to pay for it.

Why was I thinking it was a relay above the fuse box? Mine is in the recall. Kinda feel sorry for the tech that has to go thru all the dynamat to get to the fuel pump.

A problem nonetheless, but not as big as that headline makes it seem.
In my opinion, Honda maintains its rep as an excellent vehicle manufacturer with near bulletproof engines in their consumer products.

I have an 04 and I've taken my car to the dealer several times for this same issue. The sevice advisor told me to tow the car when it doesn't start... I laughed and called her crazy.

Pro
mine was effected, I was pissed when it was failing to start. I had to have my baby towed to acura and they fixed or should I say replaced the relay free of charge of coarse.

not vtech... VTEC!!!
honestly... recalls like these happen all the time with all car makers. It's not that big of a deal. It's just rare that Honda issues one, which speaks volumes for Honda's quality.
It's a lot better than some other car maker *cough*VW*cough* who stonewalled a large group of their owners about a well known issue *cough*coil packs*cough* until some newspapers got wind of it THEN issues a recall notice.
I will stick with my Acura... thanks!

Bastards. How else could they sell a story unless they completely blow it out of proportion? Oh, the truth. Riiiiiight. That would never sell.
