2005 Msrp

Hey guys,

I'm in the market for a new 2005 Acura TL auto with nav. I have test drove all the cars and can say this car is for me. I live in Tucson, AZ and the dealer wants 35,470.00 for the car. Does anyone live in the Tucson/Phoenix area that has got them down on the MSRP? I have been E-mailing them back and forth and can't seem to get them to budge with it. For the rest of you guys out there in other parts of the country have you been able to work with the MSRP? I want to get the best deal I can. I would love to do say 800.00 over invoice. You think I got a chance? Thanks in advance for your replies.

Look under TL owners sign in & search. I see one AZ listing in a quick search; he paid $31,800 for a non-navi in 2004.

they might give you different numbers and might be more willing to work with you in person than email.

Yea I agree, I got my great deal by going into the dealership, they are more likely to jerk you around through e-mail.

I'm up in Phoenix, and I just put a deposit down on a 2005 TL w/NAV. I emailed all the dealers in AZ through the Acura website, and while they all replied to my email, no one was willing to give me a price unless I came in to talk to them. Except for Acura North Scottsdale. Lou Solomon is my sales person, and he replied with decent price, and even came down a little more since it's the end of the year. It comes in next week and I'm paying $33921.50 including destination. I don't know what else they have on the lot or coming in, but you might give them a try if you haven't already. Also, Acura is doing 2.9% financing for the last week of the year, I haven't seen that posted anywhere yet but several of the dealers have mentioned it.

Wow, Thanks for the fast replies! 33921.50 is much much better then what I have been getting. And with the 2.9 financing, that would make me very happy. I will be giving Lou Solomon a call to see what he can do for me. Thanks again!

I've actually had much better luck with email than in person.

Are there any other dealers within 300 miles? IF so, get an email quote from them. Once I did this and went back to my local dealer, they dropped another $1k.

I still didn't buy it there because it wasn't enough, but they seemed to be much more willing to deal once they knew I was willing to spend a day driving to go get it from a competitor.

Good Luck!

I too had better luck with internet offers than in person. The locals were only willing to bargain once you indicated what kind of an offer you would take elsewhere. They figure if they get you in their place & you want the car they can either wear you down or package a deal that brings them more money. Don't go into a dealeership unless you have in your head a number you must have to make the deal & be prepared to leave quickly if they can't get there.
