2005 Info - Price - Michelin Tires - Updates

I just noticed on the Acura site that they have info for the 05 TL. Pricing starts at $32,900 plus $570 shipping which I believe is a few hundred over the 04 model. Other than that I haven't noticed any changes.

Mindcrime, cTLgo, Pro Street, bfogarty, DMZ, GQS, tasdisr, bmduncan, thanks for the helps.

I think it was $33,195 with destination, at least that is what my car was. I believe it was around $32,695 for the car itself.

actually i believe its the indicator light that the passenger airbag is deactivated because of the position of the passenger or the passenger is less than 70 lbs (i.e. child)

    $1,796.00 for the 17” 15-Spoke Chrome-Look Aluminum Alloy Wheel
$1,396.00 for the 18" Sparkle Silver High Performance Alloy Wheel

Funny how a smaller wheel is more expensive just because it has the chrome-look...

Also, the all-season floor mats went up from $129 to $132. =)

Well they were either too lazy or changed their minds about the Red. Redondo Red is still listed under Build n Price. They also didnt bother to make an overlay for the alternate 17s for the top picture.

I'll either MERGE this thread into 05TL sticky or make this thread as STICKY tomorrow.

Then, I'll update all the links/pics/info into the first POST. This will be easier for ppl to give it a quick glance.

    1. Don't we have passenger airbag disable indicator inside the instrument panel?

    2. 05 MID's HFL screen shows "HANDS FREE TELEPHONE", what do we have for 04?

    3. Does 05's Navi has better resolution? The LCD inside the interactive showroom looks sharp.

We finally have some information regarding the 2005 TL's on acura.com. Looks like the MSRP ($35,470.00) went up $250.00.

Possible Changes - can someone confirm:
3D Solar Sensing Automatic Climate Control (Was this available on the 2004?)
    Airbag height and position sensors?
    8" 3D Touch Screen. (Larger than 2004?)
    Increased Voice Commands for 2005?
    8 Speaker 225 watts

Keyless remote "should be" the same

    05 still shows 20/29 for both, but 04's 5AT 20/28, 6MT 20/30, ppl said it's mis-printed??

Tires may have options, but Acura.com doesn't say

Size should be the same (186 or 189)

    Cargo 12.3 & 12.5, the same as 04

    17" rim as additional option

Also...for the 18" rims, it appears the silver & chrome wheels we previously saw pictures of are the new ones. The options according to acura.com are:
18" Sparkle Silver High Performance Alloy Wheel
18" High Performance Chrome-Look Alloy Wheel

I would have been surprised if they had completely changed the style since these are really some of the nicest oem rims around.

    New "Flat Style" Back-Up Sensors

In looking at the 2005 TL web-site I noticed that they are listing two types of plugs for the back-up sensors. The regular and the new flat style-Does anyone know what they are talking about?

MSRP for the chrome-look wheels is an extra ~$500. What a rip off. Wheels are nice though. But, I prefer my gun metal finished wheels.

I just looked at the Acura site and went through the list of Safety features. I copied them here for all to see. Check out the "Auto -On/Off Headlights"

Looks like auto-on has been added to the TL.

Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA®) with traction control
    Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
    4-Wheel Disc Brakes (front/rear)
    Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD)
    Electronic Brake Assist
    Bi-Xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) Headlights
    Auto-On/Off Headlights
LED Side Markers, Taillights and Center High Mount Stop Light (CHMSL)

Back-Up Sensors help alert the driver to obstacles behind the vehicles when backing up
Four color-matched sensors are installed on the rear of the vehicle, and the system beeps with increased frequency as the vehicle nears an object
Two styles to choose from: regular* or new flat style
Price shown includes required attachment kit (Installation costs not included)

    *Available while supplies last

    MSRP: $578.00

Let's wait for some pics. If it looks good, I'll ask my dealer to install it into my 04...

It's about time they figured out they screwed up with that horrible original design just like they also figured out they screwed up by putting on Bullshitstone EL-42's. My dealer's sales manager told me today and it's official - Navi models for '05 are getting Michelin Pilot Sports A/S's. No official indication for Non-Navi models other than the standard tire replacement Acura part # is DIFFERENT than for the '04.

If he's saying the truth, the additional $250 is not the add-up for 04's MSPR, but the price difference for those tires.

Well, my wife and I just went to the dealer and put a deposit on a 2005 TL in Silver (non-NAVI). The first shipment of them is expected to arrive on October 6. That's going to seem like a LONG time.

We were considering the desert mist colour, but it's not available in Canada for 2005. That made the choice of colour easier for us.

Now we just have to wait for Acura.ca to post some details about the car that's coming to Canada. Hopefully it's not really any different from the US model.
