Question 2004 TL bumper removal FAQ?

Anyone know of a good 04 TL bumper removal faq or page. I'm now getting nervous about my upcoming Injen kit. I was unaware until now that it required bumper removal and from what I'm reading the directions are really scant about how to RR the bumper.

Needless to say I'm nervous about F-ing up my front end.

Theres really no manual or anything about it. Just ake your time and thats it. Theres a couple of clips under neath, a few under the hood, and the 2 screws on the sides and thats about it. The back bumper is actually the easiest of them all

just use a flat head screwdriver and you'll be ok. If you break any, your local auto store sells the clips for about 99 each... dont stress over it. Just make sure you either set the bumper on the grass, or on some towels, not on the the concrete...

What's the skinny on the idiot light? Does the CAI cause the idiot light to come on or only on certain builds?

And when I get the CAI, I'll put together RR bumper instructions with pics and post them.

On the injen for the Previous gen the instructions did say to remove the bumper. This was not necessary, it worked if you just removed the fender well lining and did the work around there. I know this is a completely different car but has anyone tried this?

The following is a link to download a "tif" file that contains the bumper removal pages from the svc manual:

Right Click Here and select "Save As" to save the pages to your hard drive

Once you do this, most Windows machines from 98 - XP have a viewer program for the tif file

Good luck!

page 1 is the seat removal, pages 2 and 3 are the front and rear bumper removals.

It is a three page tif, you are looking at page 1

Cant fo it on this car, because you ahev to un-screw the exisint air box which is mounted behind the front bumper, and there is no work around.

I tried attaching a small jpg but the web site has gone to a very small attachment size, bummer. too small to be of any use.

Thanks!

What proggy are you using to view the TIF? They're there, you just need to find how to change page numbers. In XP Picture Preview and the bottom center there was a page number...when I clicked it there was page 2 and a page 3.
