2004 tl and 2005 tl

Is there a difference between the 2004 and 2005 TL? I'm saying as far as speed and interior things.

No difference in speed, but I did notice three things from the 2005 (I own a 2004) TL that I got as a "loaner" during service yesterday. They are...
1. Extra seam in the front seats.
2. Above the hazard lights button, the 2005 model has a passenger SRS indicator (on/off).
3. The Acura emblem in the center of the steering wheel is a bit different.

Aside from those three things, I noticed no other interior differences.

I'M sorry if you guys took offense to my comment. I call people buttheads all the time not as an insult just for humor. I didn't mean it to be negative sorry again.

The only difference between the 04 AND 05 TL is:

1) There's a switch above the center console where you can deactivate the passengers airbag.

2) In the front seats they double sticthed it so no more butt prints will show.

I think that was the only changes made on the car.

Hope that helps

There is more aluminum in the front part of the frame.
There are pressure sensors on the seats that allow the airbags to deploy at a slower rate if a young / light person is seated up front.

there is no switch to shut the airbag off, it's just a dummy light to tell you if it's off or not

There are sensors for both weight and height in the '04 and '05 TLs. There are, I believe, seven sensors to measure the height of the passengers in that seat. If the passenger doesn't hit all the sensors and weighs less than 65 pounds, the passenger airbag adjusts or shuts off. That is as I remember it.

I'm not aware of any changes in the "frame". The TL doesn't have a frame. It does have aluminum suspension components. This is the first I have heard of any changes there.

Can you tell us more about that? What is your source?

Can't remember. I'll have to get side-by-side pictures of an '04 and an '05 car to prove that.

Because the 04 passenger seatbelt buckle would rattle against the pillar if it got flipped around. The new design allows the buckle to fall back to its normal position and not rattle.

Another change: The headliner is secured differently - it has a cross brace and doesn't fall like the 04.

I think its same for Canada. Michelin gives better snow/wet traction. But only on Navi? that's strange
