Acura TL rated as one of the top 3 entry level luxury cars. it's all the way at the bottom of the page.

Thank you for sharing that. The only way the TL would have made the list is if owners nationwide responded they were satisfied with the car and were experiencing very few problems.

Maybe that will finally shut up the trolls (non-TL owners) that visit this forum and say "I can't believe you're experiencing those problems with a $35k automobile".

What is up with the Mercedes-Benz ranking? Talk about over rated and over price cars.

2004 VDS Ratings Cover Model Year 2001

I love the new TL and plan to purchase one this month, but unfortunately this study covers model year 2001 and doesn't apply to the 3G TL. If you look at the ratings you will see that the the Honda Prelude is included and it's been out of production for a few years. We'll have to wait a few years before the new TL shows up in the VDS.

I know Mercedes has fallen for several years now in reliability and that is one of the reasons I traded my 97 C280 for the TL. I must admit though, I have driven E, S500, SL500. These are probably THE smoothest cars I have ever been in. You can be full throttle and it barely feels like the car is moving because it's so smooth. You feel like a king driving one, and I could give a sh*t about the star. Once I pay the TL off, I will be getting another Benz. (That way I will still have the TL when the Benz is in the shop!

And YES they are very expensive to buy and service and anything....

yes i noticed the same thing, i looked back at the 2003 year report and it is almost identical. they probably don't update that as much but I am sure the other stats are relavant.

They definitely don't update them. The Honda Prelude is on the top 3 for sporty cars.

Prelude made best Sporty Car?

When did Honda start making the Prelude again?? Did anyone else catch that as well? It's in the "Sport Car' section.

You see three year old cars here because this study is testing cars that are THREE YEARS OLD. Please note the following quote from the article: "The Vehicle Dependability Study measures problem symptoms of 3-year-old vehicles"
