Angry 2004 Front Bumper Hole

Couple weeks ago someone backed into my 2004 Acura TL and made a hole in my bumper with his tow hook. I was wondering if you guys think I should get a new bumper, perhaps a 2007 TL base front bumper or if I should stick to the 2004 TL Base bumper? Or if anyone knows if I can fix it without having to purchase a bumper!? Let me know

Fiberglass?!
You could repair it with a two part plasic bumper repair kit and some mesh but I would just replace it. You will never get it to look quite right and the bumper sees a lot of abuse.

It is but you wont have to worry about it failing and spending more later to replace the bumper. I would just save for it. If you do it right the first time you wont have to worry about it. I would upgrade to the 07-08 bumper as well.

a bumper is a car part.

fix your car first; then spend money on "fun" mods

He gave you money? I find it hard to believe he gave ya 900 bucks to properly replace the bumper cover and absorber.

What parts did you order exactly? I need to repaint my front bumper soon and am considering upgrading to either a body kit or 2007 style. I expect that I would have to get the bumper,A logo trim, grille inserts, fog holders/mounts, and optional fog lights unless it's a direct swap on all parts?

Does is cost more to go to the 07 bumper or about the same? What other parts do you need or does it just go right on? Thought about doing it myself

The 07-08 bumper makes for a nice upgrade. It has more of an aggressive look to it. If mine crapped out I know thats what I would do

Same question here!

Anyone have any good threads that have the cost comparison or parts list? Sure, the DIY would be great too, but I figure the numbers for the replacement would be more useful as I weigh more options. That way I can know what to buy

I had a similar square puncture wound on the back of my 05.....only I didn't notice it until took the bumper off. The repair job that the previous owner had done looked damn near perfect. I could only tell by the melted plastic on the inside. This type of repair may be worth looking into.
