2004 Acura TL

Hey Guys, Looking at purchasing a 2004 TL with 117k miles. Since this is a change model year, any tidbits of advice..? Thanx.

Yes, get one with the Navigation system. That screen is the heart of the interior and will give passengers an enhanced opinion of your car.

^ Stay away from any auto before 06....07 & 08 should be fine.

transmission problems.

the 07-08's seem okay.
but the 04-06 autos def. had auto transmission woes

Make sure the trans fluid is redish pink and not close to having a hint of brown. Make sure it shifts smoothly.

Find out if the 105K service was done and when.

Make sure the lower control arm bushings are not torn!

Make sure all the functions work in the car.

The 04-06 TL have some transmission woes, but certainly not as large as the 2G TL from 99-03. My factory trans failed around 100K on my TL, and many others have had failures in the high mileage range. This requires a rebuild which is about $2500 - 5K depending on where you go.
