2003 RSX Type-S vs 2007 Honda Civic SI (HFP Edition)
Well it's been a long and awaited face. I've beat him before on my TL-P but that was because he didn't try, he was scared of cops.
I eventually sold the TL and few months later picked up an 03' RSX-S. BONE STOCK
He has a 2007 Honda Civic SI with the special HFP (Honda Factory Performance) edition, which is an added sport muffler, suspension upgrade and some tasty visual mods.
Actually this is his car
Well anyways it was from a red light, note the car comes factory with an LSD so that helped him.
We waited on the redlight, as the cars turned (arrow) and as soon I saw the arrow turn yellow I revved it up to about 2k rpm and right as the green light up, I dropped the clutch.
My bald tires did a horrible job as expected, so the tires spun and the car swerved to the right a little bit, as soon as I caught traction though I just ripped it. I almost redlined first but and jammed it into second, not losing the VTEC band and pulled a half a car length away, jammed it into 3rd and kept my distance, I let off on the top of 3rd and he just flew by me.
His older brother always talked shit to me, saying the SI would spank me and that the owner of the Si was a much better driver, so on so on...clearly he was wrong.

Thanks everyone , I was originally going to sell the car, but I got a job so I might try to make it a one of a kind nice and clean RSX with all bolt-ons, because there are none in my area.

keep the RSX-S. They are fun, reliable and cheap to mod plus get great gas mileage.

And beware of loud exhaust with the RH!!!! Happy modding
Oh, and good kill on the SI. The 05-06 RSX-s are a little quicker than the 1st gen and manage to keep up with the SI a little better. Good job outdriving your friend in the 1st gen!
With CAI/RH/E/Kpro you have yourself a nice midish 13 second car @103-104 on your hands with street tires.

^mhm I enjoyed reading that post, it makes me want to go to work and start building up my car. Yeah no SRI for me lol, I want to buy an Injen CAI, I've heard they offer best gains. I might also look into Injen exhaust as well.

They are fun to drive, they just have NO torque...and I mean that with love. They are so sexy though and can be quick even without torque. Once boosted they are monsters But you already know that with your H22

^haha yeah I can vouch for the no TQ but yet I can still hold my ground with TQ filled cars. I also agree 05-06 look nicer, but I think for me it's the rims and a decklid that I love on the 05-06 years, so I'm going to be removing my spoiler filling holes and putting on the decklid. Then I want to buy 05-06 stock rims. All that goes after Exhaust, I'm so sick an tired of how ugly the back of my car is because of such a small muffler and it sounds crappy too.

Here's my suggestion...if you plan on getting a race header, search for sound clips of each exhaust with the race header on Club ARESEX, or YouTube. (You can't type in some forum names on AZine....) There should be several at least. The race header is just like the PCDs on the TL/Accord V6. It's a catless header and makes great power, but also makes the car a LOT louder. I'm not sure if you like loud exhausts or what, but just trying to save you the headache after installing the RH and you're like FCUK!!! It's LOUD!! Haha. Good luck with it man, keep us updated.

the cars i build are always built around visual and "fun factor".. im old at heart, i know.
i rarely even bring my cars into high RPMS.
now the cars that me and pops build are a different story
we're working on a C5 engine swap into a 87' porsche 944.

C5 swap in a 944?? Sounds like sex to me.
Yes. The race header is a long piece and deletes the cat underneath the car. There should be a flex pipe in the header so it doesn't crack as well.
The reason it changes the exhaust note so much is because it deletes the cat. Just like our PCDs delete our cats and totally change our sound, the same goes for your RH.
Personally, I think the K20 sounds awesome even with the RH. It really gives the car a lot of power too.
