Hey guy,

Today when I got off from work and my co-worker ask me dose he have to change his air filter for his Intake(for 5yrs) on his 02 Solara V6 AT and than I saw a TRD S/C in his engine bay I was like anyway back to the topic I was wondering if we going to have a Roll or Dead stop we could win?? and how many HP dose his S/C add?? I saw online some say 40hp and some even say 70hp(with high boost pulley??)

Here is what he got
02 toyota solara AT(not sure is 4spd or 5spd)
TRD S/C no high boost pulley
some exhaust i mean just muffler
a injen short ram with a filter on it for 5yrs and never changed
some crabby tire I believe is stockie

I'd say you would take him. He has 190HP out of the 3.0L stock and then add about 40HP and 40TQ with the supercharger. He has a 4AT against your 5spd auto. The S/C shouldn't help his high end either. He probobly would have trouble with spinning off the line. Even with the supercharger he still isn't putting out as much power as a pontiac grand prix GTP. Race from a roll and a dig and I believe with your mods you will win!

correction 200HP and 212lbs/tq & its alot lighter than the TL at 3000lbs...but i thnk u would still win...it would b a close race tho...ul prolly win since he obviously doesnt take care of his car with that old ass filter on there

No, you'd take him. There are videos of me destroying 03 ones with my old motor. Who cares if he's S/C'd? Even with bolt-ons a 3G would take it easily, and you seem to have more than the regular bolt-ons.

I just looked up the stats and it does have 200HP but 214TQ and weighs in at 3241LBS. Still lighter than a TL but a 4AT doesn't help and with the supercharger still putting out 240HP and 254TQ.

The sedan Camry V6 puts out 190HP. I was confused with the 2. I think the Solara had VVT-i where as the sedan did not use it until recently.

I destroyed a solara a couple of weeks back. he made a futile attempt to catch up, however. it was rather entertaining. rolls up like hes hot shit, then bam... just walked all over him.

I know this is an old thread but had to reply. I was one of the first to have the sc when it came out and was really disappointed! My solara was a tester for a lot of mods ( 3.2l block, new heads, etc..) but the most my car made with about 10gs worth of mods was 271 to the wheels. It was a cool car though. All trd stuff and turned a lot of heads but performance wise it was not all that. I think a stock 3g mt would probably beat it. Anyway i sold the car and bought an srt4 and the dealer bought it back because it was a lemon!!ha Now i have a 3g tl 6mt and couldnt be happier.

271 whp is pretty quick.. but with 10k worth of mod's I'd expect a lot more...... damn i'm glad i never ran into you in the streets... you'd take out both of my TL's

I was shooting for like 350 whp but never acheived that. We tried more boost with a stronger block, free flowing head, fuel, headers, etc.. but the most boost we could get was 7psi. anything more and the belt slipped, timing and fuel would have issues etc..Oh well it was a fun car. I beat a lot of cars when i had it. Several STI, evo, 350z, s2k, old corvettes all saw my tail lights. I was just pissed with all the money i spent the car was never just right. Oh well. Live and learn.

NO! My car was highly modified not the one in the original post! With just 4psi, an auto and not much else the toyota is slow. A 3g tl would def. beat it.

Ok, but this whole post was about your Solara, so I assumed you meant a TL would beat yours, not the one in the OP. At 271 WHP yours would probably have beaten a TL easily.
