1in scuff on bumper $390 to fix!!!
So this old guy in my condo bumped me the other day and scuff the paint on the dark bottom portion of the a-spec kit. I've taken it to 3 collision shops and a bumper repair place and the lowest quote I can get is $390. The gentleman is going to pay, but this just seems outrageous. The scuff just removed the paint, no scratch at all. All the places told me that they have to put down a textured paint, then dye it to the right shade. I have never heard of this kind of repair. Damn how much would it be to just buy a new a-spec rear?

I feel ya! If I can help it if that happens to me (even if I have to add a little more to the ins. claim or repair), I would rather have new. All of that stuff they are saying blows me! Makes me think something may look different as far as the shade! But hey, you are the "Zaino" man, couldn't you just take that out? (j/k) LOL!
Good luck!

If you're on good terms with your local Acura dealership, they usually have a Paintless Dent Repair guy that can come in and do a repair on a bumper/bumper cover for less than $100.
Go to the dealership you bought it from, they should be willing to help. We have a couple customers a month asking for the same thing here in Vegas.

It seems reasonable (as far as real world costs go, not as common sense/logic would dictate). I was rear-ended the other month...only damage was a few scratches from the screws on the lady's front license plate holder. I figured $100, $200 at the most to spot sand and paint...$650 was the estimate from three body shops.

Haha...I knew that would be the cheaper and best route! No brainer from the get go on that one. That old dude would be ordering right now if that was me! Can't have the NBP looking like a hoopty! SSm either right? Hey, post a pic of that lil scuff on there so we can laugh! You should thank the old man for hooking you up with a new joint!
