1999 CL Vs 1999 TL
What Up?
My friends cousin has a 3.0 CL and I have a 99 TL. He wants to race to see what the outcome is.. I have a feeling Im going to loose due to the weight he has and I think its about the sam HP (didnt do my research). What would you think the outcome would be?

You'll own him!!! The 3.0CL is effectively a 6G Accord V6, against with the 3.2TL is quicker/faster.

TL specs Horsepower: 225 hp Torque: 216 ft-lbs. Curb Weight: 3461 lbs.
CL specs Horsepower: 200 hp Torque: 150 ft-lbs. Curb Weight: 3285 lbs.
your torque advantage will kill him off the line. it'll be interesting to see what would happen from a roll. either one of you have any mods?

bkzjimmy, those numbers for the 99 CL seem extremely optimistic for a J30A1 CL. It was common knowledge back in the day that a 5-speed F23A1 was just as fast as the 4-speed autotragic V6s.

Thanks for all the reply so far. I think it would be a close race and also what would you mean by driver? Be more detail about it, are you talkin about lunching and gear shifting? If thats the case, Im slowly mastering the lunching on the TL and with gear shifting, I know when to shift since the TL does have a little lag with trip tronic. Also, would the condition of both cars be also inculded? My is still basically new, no rust, no rattle, perfect cooling, etc.. WILL RECORD!
P:S My other friend has a 05 Maxima, he had raced the same CL and said he had won by a car length + . Would that make since ( one car length being the least )? Thanks!

How is it though the CL is doing the same numbers as the TL? I mean torque wise, the TL has it, which should make a difference right? Or is also the weight that the CL is getting the advantage by?

For your start, brake torke at about 1800rpm, and tap the accelerator at the middle for a fraction of second, after floor it.. if you dont have intake or headers i think is useless to be in SS mode and ill maybe be slower.. with intake and headers its another story .. i think ill be a close race! to be sure you can remove your subs and race with 1/4 tank gas...
