18" wheel delivery question

If you order the Acura 18" wheels (really like these better than the other OEM wheels) do the Yokohamas come with the wheels for $1500 or do you pay even more for the tires (say $120 per tire for a total cost of $1950)

Also, is this a dealer add-on - if so, what happens to the stock wheels and tires? I'd want them given to me so I could resell them and recoupe the cost, unless the dealer would give a discount for them (which I don't think the closest dealer would).

Do they come from the factory pre-ordered?

thanks in advance!

The Yokahamas come with. I had my dealer put on Goodyear Eagle F1's for a $200 upcharge.

As for the stock 17's, they're included. They will be my winter rims/tires.

You can order without tires, don't let them fool you. They all come thru the parts department and tires have to be mounted anyway. Just tell them you only want the rims. This is what I did when I bought my car. I actually brought the rims home before the car was ready.

Thanks,

Although I don't want the Yokohamas long term, its ok because they won't last long. I'd rather get, for the price, the Yoko's, wear them out and then get new shoes. I'd like the rims for resale, just to decrease cost. Don't need winter tires down here in Alabama.

Thanks again

I see you're both from OH. I grew up just outside Cleveland (Brook Park) and most of my family still lives there. I went to college at Case Western but left Cleveland for Med School. When I get out of the Army in 7 years (retire) we're not sure if we'll head back that way, given the winters.

How was dealing with Acura in Canton? I read from a previous neuronbob post that the dealers aren't willing to come down on price 'cause they're the only game in town.

I bought my last two vehicles in Cleveland (Honda Odyssey '02 and 96 Explorer) because their prices were more reasonable than in Kentucky in '96 or Washington DC in '02 where I was stationed at the time.

17" vs 18"

I live in Dallas where the roads are mostly concrete with expansion joints. Would the 18" make the ride much more harsh than the 17"? Just curious...

The MSRP for WHEELS ONLY is $1516 or so. Tires are not included in that price.

I know they can be purchased for about $1000. I've seen others post about a dealership in CA that will sell them for about that. However, I'm confused about the wheels when ordered on the car, though. On the "build and price" on the web site they mention the $1516 price for the wheels but say nothing about the tires. When I got a price from the dealer they didn't mention an extra charge for the Yoko's, but you have to deliver the car with some kind of tire on it?

I'll have to be more specific with the dealer when I order.
