Post 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels

My wife and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our Anthracite/ebony 6MT/Navi '04 TL. Was at the dealership today and saw the 18 inch alloy wheels with summer tires, looked pretty good. Wanted to know what the rest of you feel about them.

I like mine. You can see them in my gallery. Pain in the butt to wash though. DO NOT send your car thru an auto car wash, you will ruin them for sure.

They do look great, but i bent a rim this year in my last car and had to buy a new rim. They were only 17" MOM quasar 2's. The 18" on the TL is even lower profile. Toronto's streets have too many potholes for me to consider 18's, but they are sweet.

Yeah I thought about Toronto potholes as well when going with the regular wheels. Plus I figured if I really wanted 18" wheels later I'd just buy a set. That way I could sell them when I was done with them and go back to the stock 17's.

Now I guess I gotta go get a set of steelies and snow tires.

Sold my 17s and bought the 18s.... my bro wanted my stocks to put on his RSX-Type S... Gonna pick up the rims tomorrow, but am still waiting for my tires...

My TL is nighthawk black, so I am looking forward to the gun-metal look.

OEM 18's

Do anyone know if the Factory 18's will fit the 2003 TL-S?

Regarding your 17's, did they com off of the 6MT? I was planning on doing the same thing for my wife who has an '04 RSX Type S.

The service manager at my dealer put the new TL's 17" rims on his TL-S, not sure about the 18" though.

Nope... my TL is the 5AT... but as far as I am aware, they are the same 17's.

silvermullet,

I also have NBP and would like to see how the 18s look with this color combo. Post some pics if possible. Do you have the aero kit or lip spoiler also?

I like the 18" on most color TL's. I have an Anthracite 6MT and thought about putting them on my car until I saw them on another Anthracite at an autoshow. The gun-metal gray finish on the wheels made them blend in with the Anthracite a little too much for my taste. The 17" are quite a bit lighter in terms of color and stand out rather well. Just my opinion....................

Does anyone have pictures of an 04' TL w/gunmetal 18s? IMO, that would be a nice combination.

I agree, the 18's are a little too dark for my taste. It's too bad the 17's that come with the car don't come in 18 because I like that style and color.

Oh, gosh I don't know about the 18's on Pearl White. But then again, it may turn out to be a killer combo. I would like to see that also.

timnguyen9,

sorry man, I don't have either... I am thinking of getting the lip spoiler in the near future.... I am waiting for my tires, as they are on order and should be in by this weekend... I will post pics. I really like NBP, but man it gets dirty here in the Seattle area real quick...

peace.

It provides a great contrast. I had Gunmetal rims on my last white car and it looked great. Both the car and rims hide dirt a majority of time. The new Sequoia's have this same look.

Cool

silvermullet,

yeah....know what you mean about keeping NBP dirt-free, but when its clean and just been detailed, it looks sick!

When you get the tires and 18s on, please post pics for all of us to admire.

This is interesting..I'm not sure I want the 18s because of the color not being the best to go with my WDP. I'd love to see pics of this combination if anyone has it.
