Spark plugs should be good for 100k. Your just liking the new sound too much and probably running it harder.I know I did.

that instant readout is less than accurate over the long run
It does give an idea of how much throttle you are using~

Go by tankfull(s) and you have a real average

You can light throttle it from that gas station up to the freeway cruise speed and get high mpg numbers... till the car brain catches up with whats going on

hey, I only notice a change in the sound when i redline, unlike most people that hear an aggressive sound at about 2-3000 RPM, does anyone know why?

i use premium gas 93 octane i think from mobil one gas/ 33-34psi front and 32-33 psi rear/ yokohama tires brand new (dont know much about tire models) / of course my ebrake is down haha/ its auto but in semiauto i shift at 2-2.5k rpm (best range for max fuel effiecieny i believe) / 63k miles and oil is still new

so far im looking to changing:

spark plugs (NGK iridiums right?)
fuel injector cleaner

any other ways to improve?

I doubt FI cleaners through the tank will work unless you do the real thing...

Just wait till you fill up to get your average and be easy on the pedal.

OP your "highway" mileage is the key to your problem because you claim to have received average mph in the 20s. You were obviously driving in some traffic.

That's not true highway driving. Report back when you calculate it for a 50+mph and you will see your mileage soar.

man i have no idea why and how u getting such a low gas mileage !!! how many people do u have when u usually drive ?

this is what i would do.....when its time to do an oil change.....

1/2 can of seafoam in gas tank (when the gas empty light is on)
1/2 can of seafoam in the vac line
1 can of seafoam in the engine oil case

leave the car for 15 minutes.....drive around vtec-ing through the gears....get all the smoke out....

oil change

replace both the filters (cabin and air)

do a 3x3 tranny flush

rotate/balance/alignment

spark plugs

get ur tire pressure up to 35 all around....

i did sea foam already im waiting a month before i do it a second time. sea foam helped me improve by 2 MPG which i thought was well worth the money. and what is 3x3 tranny flush? is that drain then run the car then drain again and etc?

i will check my filters next time and check those and i do plan on getting an oil change a little later after my second seafoam

You don't need to seafoam it a second time. It's not some kind of miracle water that solves every problem.

Yes, the 3x3 is what you said. Drive the car for a while, drain, refill and repeat.

i just seafoam every oil change (5000 miles in synthetic )

3x3 is you drain 3 quarts and refill with new ATF....drive around in all gears.....and repeat this 3 times....i usually do a 1x3 every other oil change which is 10K miles !!!
