14000k Hids
#6
to be honest 14k hids isn't really as bright as a 4300k or a 6000k hid, the higher the k value the less light output but more color input...your probably asking yourself why would you want less light out. I went with 14k hid because i liked the color of it and the way it elluminates the road. "ATTENTION WHORE" LOL

Just the other day I saw a pickup truck on Cross Island Pkwy with 30,000K in his headlights and 8000K in his fogs. It looked SOOOOO Stupid!! There was NO output whatsoever out of his headlights. They looked like blue LEDs in there. When I looked close it was an actual HID system in there but it was PURE dark blue color and no output. It was totally like a blacklight! I am serious, the wavelength of light we are dealing with here was totally in the UV range. What a waste of money because this dude was totally driving with the vision of his 8000k fogs. He couldn't see JACK with those headlights..If he was doing this all for show he should have done 8000ks in his headlights and 30,000ks in his foglights so he could turn heads. In any case he was a dimwit!
And all the 6000k guys out there think us 8000k guys have gone overboard!

that box your referring to is called a ballast, if your just replacing a bulb then theres no need to buy a ballast a stock one should do just fine, unless you wanna buy a whole damn kit which would be kind of point less if your car already came stock with HIDS.

At first i was gonna go with 3000k hid, but from doing a little research i be hearing that shit was illegal and same goes for a 14000k hid. I had a couple of friends who had a 3000k hid in his lexus sc 300 and another with a 14000k hid on his truck if they can drive around without getting a ticket then why can't I. If i get a ticket for having these bulbs on imma be so ******* pissed!!!

Honestly my man, aftermarket HIDs in general are illegal.
It's just that if you upgrade your headlights on your TL you can always argue that HIDs come standard. A cop is not going to break out with some "Kelvin temperture reading machine" You won't get in any trouble unless you get into some funky colors like past 10,000k. That can land you with a "improper lighting equipment" citation.
Also technically speaking HIDs in lower fogs etc. that you see on the street are really illegal, cops don't usually hassle that's all. You gotta aim them low to not irritate them. If they deem them unsafe to uncoming traffic, that's a another ticket for "off-road lights". Most aftermarket fogs say "for off-road use only"
A lot local acessory shops have stopped selling them and major companies like Hella and Phillips stop making retrofits, they stick to D2S etc.
The market is filled with the cheap Chinese ones and they're sold on Ebay for a reason.

Errr ok 14k .. Waste of money .. The grass, road, street signs, etc etc etc is gonna be purple .. You wont be able to see anywhere near as well as your stock 4k & you'll definatly get harassed by the po po .. I look at every car w HID that passes me & I laugh & point when I see anything above an 8k ..

I had some 14K's on my STI...
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE light output... although the car looked cool at night. I would suggest you get a GOOD set of foglights, because that will be your primary light source.

they never produced an accord with stock HIDs...... if u put them in... its diff. i know philips makes 4100 4300k bulbs but they dont put the 4300 in cars stock or stock replacement. they put osram 4300 the color has a slightly bluer hue to it. i want to find osram 6000k for mine.....but I just got the 6000k GE and those r naaaaaaasty....i dont know how the osram would stand next to em
