100K mile report on my 06 TL
Hello everyone. I'm new here. Seems like it was yesterday when I picked up my 06 TL with nav (auto) WDP with 9 miles on the odometer. Just reached 100K miles and I'm :-) to report that I have experienced no problems at all with my vehicle. Being an ex BMW 3 series person all my life I got sick and tired of the high maintenance costs and electrical problems galore on new 3 series. Yes, I miss the 50/50 weight distribution (excellent handling) but now I'm hooked on Acura. Vehicles come loaded and my service bills which have only been oil/filter changes, tire rotations and engine air filters have been under $100.00 each and every time! With the exception of my steering wheel feeling a little looser my car still drives the same way it did when it had 9 miles on it :-) *Just last week I was getting into my car at Macy's and these two ladies walk up to me and say "we were admiring your car, its really nice"...why didn't I get something like that when I was driving new 3 series? LOL

thanks for sharing your TL experience with us. i keep reading threads similar to this saying, "just reached 100k w/ no problems...just reached 150k w/ no problems"
...starting to make me regret purchasing the extended warranty for 100k/5 years...oh well...maybe i'll need it for something one day...lets hope not tho.

Amy I'm glad to hear that your TL is still running strong! This makes me optimistic that my 04 will last me a long time.
Btw you got the right color

I always enjoy hearing success stories from other TL owners. I love the style and handling of the late-model BMW, but I wouldn't give my UA6 up for any BMW model based solely on the cost of long-term ownership that accompanies one. Plus, from what I have experienced from a lot of their drivers, the make doesn't come with standard turn signals.

I've got a bit over 146,800 on mine and have only had a few issues on my '04 TL that I can recall that were serious
1) I think at less than 20-30k miles I had to get new brake pads and rotors because the original pads or rotors were defective. I forget. They were replaced for free.
2) I had to replace a power steering pump at around 80k. That was covered by the extended warranty
3) At around 122k, I had to replace 2 engine mounts (seems to be common for this model).
4) At around 120-130k, I had an SRS light stay on. Dealership determined it was a faulty sensor that was either covered for 150k or the lifetime of the car, I forget. They replaced it for free.
All-in-all the car has been damn reliable. I love my 3G. It'll be a sad day when I let her go.

I've noticed 90% of the white TLs are driven by females with black a close second.
So far at 93,000 I've replaced a battery and a headlight bulb. Not bad considering the mileage. I too get compliments on the car but it's almost always from the girls. I guess it's not the most masculine car out there.

Come on "I Hate Cars" the TL just attracts anyone with a good sense of taste lOl... I had my silver 05 TL for a couple of years and my wife decided to get a white 08 TL after she graduated from Nursing school because she loved mine so much lOl...

3 of the 4 girls at our field office have new Acuras but no TLs. I counted 5 TLs at our main office and out of those 4 of them are for sure female.
Nothing wrong with it, I still love the looks of my car. I just wish dudes would stop trying to catch up, look over and then take off. I'm not sure if they're admiring the car or trying to see what's driving it.

Acurazine is a great site, filled with info and cool stuff to keep you awake during a boring work day. Just don't post in Ramblings.. Nothing but leg humpers and spider killers over there... eeek.

Amy, welcome and congrats! I'm nearing 100k myself. Biggest cost we face is the 105k service (timing belt/water pump/tensioner). Start calling around now for prices (including Honda dealers) and keep an eye out for service specials.
I had nice German car myself once . It was a 2001 Audi A4. Best darn manual tranny on the planet. However, when I (literally) ended up on a first-name basis with the service manager, I knew I had to dump it before the warranty ran out. Also, the extended warranty cost a fortune because everyone knew people would collect on it!
