14.4-6 especially since you're keeping your 19's.

He's talking 1/8 mi. unless this is what you believe a 3600 lb FWD with only 258HP will do.

That sounds better than my initial guess. Those 19s will certainly hurt.

I'm guessing around 9.0-9.4.

I also have the 04 auto TL and almost the same exact setup as you minus the port and polish shaved heads.

My best time was 9.5~ @ the Irwindale drag strip and this was when I had all chrome 19's.

Results are
60 foot =2.42
330 foot=6.30
594 foot = 8.94
And 1/8 mile in 9.42 @ 78 mph.
This was my best time others were 9.53. 9.59 and 9.65. Does anyone else have a dry hop problem geting off the line. I think I just have shitty tires.

^ That sounds like wheel hop with shitty tires.

Check your motor mounts and get new tires.

9.42 aint bad, good job! Sonnick nailed it.

Not bad. I had a pretty good guess lol. The car has good potential. A 9.4 1/8th with a 2.4 60' is good for at least a really low 9 in the 1/8th. I believe my 1/8th was a 9.127 when I pulled my 1st 14.0 with CAI/Jpipe. I know it wouldn't exactly be an even exchange given I am 6MT and you are 5AT, but I'd say it's a pretty good idea of what you could run in the 1/4 with a better launch. Try putting your stock wheels and to see the difference. I guarantee with the same exact launch your time will improve by .2 and 1mph.

78mph in the 1/8th is very fast. Much faster than most bolt-on TLS'. Assuming this was the 1/4 mile, the car would be trapping 100-101mph. Seems a bit fast for a bolt-on TL 5AT. Most are in the 94-96mph range and 5AT bolt-on TLS' in the 97-99mph range. 100-101mph would suggest this car has about 50whp more than a more typical bolt-on TL 5AT.

My G only does 77mph in the 1/8 but gets close to 99-100 in the 1/4. At least it did 3 years ago when I ran last.

Nice runs! Those 19's are killing your 60ft. Should be in the low 2.3 range for a TL auto even with bolt-ons. It would be nice to see what you would run in the 1/4!

The nearest one is in north carolina been thinking of going. And dave b u might be close in the 50 hp difference my head work made more gains than everything else combined. Im going to the dyno this coming week I will post a video. I ran for times and my fastest 60 foot was 2.14. It would have been my fastest run bun I hit the rev limit in 2nd shifting to 3rd. I was think maybe a 9.25 on that run

I'm very interested in your dyno numbers. You should get the Precat deletes as well. They would compliment your setup nicely.

Bearcat 94 I could drag that tl-s up any road and time I have 5 local racers I beat day in and day out that have tl-S.including my own brother with a 08 6 speed I pull 2 cars in a race to 120.

Maybe. But why you picking on me?

Still, I had a quicker 1/8th mile. With stock tires, no bolt-ons.

Your bolt ons helped, but a properly driven TL-S 6MT is going to walk you .. ESPECIALLY when you enter your autotragics 4th gear wall. The TL-S 6MT's 4th gear is extremely strong, it'll stay with cars much faster than your bolted 5AT.

Your brother needs to know how to drive ..

On a side note, I used to have the same exact car as you with full bolt ons except pre-cat deletes .. my car was dead even with a TL-s 5AT from a 50-100 roll.

Dude, you trapped 78 mph in the 1/8. I hate to break it to you, but a properly driven 6MT TL-S can easily trap 100 in the 1/4, and these cars gain ~20 mph from the 1/8 to the 1/4. Do the math and stop acting like you own a 12 second TL.

Hell, my base 6MT trapped 79 mph in the 1/8 when I just had intake and cat back.

No doubt your TL is quick, however a stock 07-08 TL-S 6MT is the quicker vehicle. Cleary its the driver(your brother) that is lacking skill. Now if your TL were a 6MT and had those bolt ons then I wouldn't doubt it if you pulled on a stock 6MT TL-S then.

This.

OP: If you took off your 19s, you'd probably gain up to 1mph in the 1/8th. Still not as fast as a stock TL-s 6MT, but getting there. If you beat him, you beat him but it doesn't sound right.
