Got my oil change today and while i was there a salesman asked me if i wanted to step up and drive a real machine. I drove the 4g and i felt like it was something my grandfather would drive. It looks like a cadillac. Yeah awd is nice, but it lacks the sporty handling that my S has. Not having a touch navi is a negative in my book. When i got out i told the salesman it's time to look at a BMW for my next car.

'warning infomercial' napatype - if you don't like the navi on the 4 - wait until you see the bmw nav (although the it was just improved w/ the 09s) I drove the 535, 335, 135, and the new for 08 M3 (the M would probably kill me) - great cars - price quickly climbs w/ options - easily 10 grand. -

I would probably be one of them, but I just spent a few hours at my dealer having some recalls performed on my '05 6mt TL and can say that the looks alone of the new TL makes me look away....., so hopefully when the manual tranny is available, the hideous grill will be gone or painted...
and I will be replacing my ride...

as hard as it may be for us 3Gers to warm up to the 4G, i would highly recommend other 3G owners to at least go drive the SH-AWD version.

phenomenal in my opinion.

and *GASP!!!* i actually think it looks great in black (AWD model only, far better wheel package), painted grille or not. at first i was polarized by the looks, but now in retrospect EVERYTHING on the road, including my 3G, looks VERY dated.

give it one drive before you continue bashing that front grille. if you still feel the same way, then so be it. that is all.

how spirited were you driving? because i HIGHLY disagree with this statement. anything at city speed would make any car feel like a grandfather car.

Ah ok. If it came in a 6mt, I would give it good look but not anytime soon. I like mine too much to get rid of it just yet.

I love our 07 TL-S. Great looks great performance. I really dislike the new 09 TL. Acura has lost its way... it no longer makes a car that I am interested in. You even have to wonder about their advertising... crashing through a brick wall? Oh wait... it is a bit of a tank.

The AWD with the 6 speed sounds great but the car is still but UGLY. If the 5th Gen looks better and perhaps loses a little weight I might consider it.

I hear ya. Its got techz to drool for and probably drives like butter, but this is my thinking: with a -20% (negative 20-percent) chance of buying it, no use for a test drive. I do not want to get suckered into buying an awesome ride and spending the next 60 months wondering if the looks are for its cutting-edge and ground-breaking aesthetics or its sub-ugly and bizarre styling. Its size and styling are just not my cup of tea.

The 3Gs and some 2Gs with the most basic mods (tint, shoes...) still looks sick today and I am not even talking about the jaw-droppers on the 'photograph gallery' on the zine.'

I am almost certain the 4G MT would look different and very nice - Acura has got no choice.

If I had a rack of money i'd probably get a 6MT SH-AWD. However...it would need the following work done.

1) Blacked out headlights
2) Color matched grille
3) 2" Drop
4) 20x9/20x10 HRE/DPE/iForged.....silver or brushed aluminum finish with deep rear lip (wheels can make or break the car...all i've seen on the 4G is cheap ebay rims)
5) 20% tint
6) Smoked tails
7) Debadge
8) A-spec package
9) Brembo BBK


I think it would look pretty decent after all that...

I was seriously waiting for the AWD model to come out and I was set to buy one. I couldn't wait for the pictures to come out. Before I bought my 3rd gen, I had no interest in buying an Acura but the 3rd gen just kept grabbing me when I would see it on the road. I just had to have one. Just beautiful. (I bought a TL-S and honestly think the base looks much nicer) AWD should have been out years ago for the third gen. Honda is a great company but they need to stop following and start leading. I just cannot fall in love with the new one. Its just not doing it for me. I'm almost mad at myself for not loving it because I was all set to buy one. I even have my wifes permission to trade mine in for it but I just can't. I'm torn. I'm thinking that Honda will hear enough of how ugly the car is....enough to make some changes to the front and rear to fix the problem in a year or two. I think I'm going in a new direction.
