'08 Type S 6MT impossible to find!!
OP - you either want a manual or you don't. If you do, then wait until you find one - otherwise you'll regret buying an auto.
The rest of you must be pricing these cars in Sudanese Pounds. Back in August I saw maybe ten manual TLs in the Boston area; about four seemed clean. Picked the cleanest looking one, went to look at it, and bought it - 2006 manual, 86k miles, super clean with full maintenance history - $10,400 out the door from a dealer. Paying twice as much for a car that's only two years newer is crack, imho.

What's your point? Like I said, you negotiate the price. IF you want a type-s manual and you searched long enough and that's what you really want, you go for it. The longer you sit around, the better deal pass you by. As these cars have aged and its gotten even harder to find one that's not a rolling dumpster and or salvaged. How's your TL doing? Proves my point, but okay.
At the end of the day if you have $20k to spend and you buy a nearly 10 year old Honda that's not an S2000 you are an idiot. Sorry your car is not that exclusive dude, you don't need to lash out at me to compensate.
Using my car as an example is hilarious too. I could have taken my purchase price, got a low mileage 3.7L, swapped it in with a new transmission, and still been under $20k. Great comparison though, you really made yourself look good with the personal attacks.

You don't have a point. You compare cars based off the other options available, not what some delusional fanboy on a forum thinks.

I never mentioned by car as it's an exclusive model. It's what I wanted when I was shopping 9 years ago. I can tell you it's exclusive to most now due to it's condition and what's been done. My point with you was clearly this, since you're limited time here you made two posts. Both with issues on your vehicle. My question to you could have been simply, why didn't you have spent a little more to get a better vehicle instead of one with a lot of issues??
It's the same mentality as on who wants something specific and will pay MORE for it. Nothing personal to you, it's how the cookie crumbled for you and your purchase. Nobody told you to get a higher mileage vehicle, than ask the forum for help. I could tell you to take it to a shop to get it fully inspected. But that's none of my business, now is it.
If you decide to invest 20K into an S2000, that's all you. If you're set on finding a very specific one and it was priced at 25K, would you buy it? When you stop looking at things as if they were black and white, you'd understand that there are people out there that want something bad enough that will pay more for it. I never said 22K was a great deal for that vehicle, I did mention "negotiation" on the price. Best of luck on your engine issue

To LeVel,
As you said BOSTON, that's the key word. Most 6MT are found on the EAST coast.

MT for life.

All jokes aside, every time someone has worked on my car, they end up complimenting me, and I'm not fishing for any, just bring the car for a oil change - tire rotation some other minor regular maintenance item, the techs drool over it, and grin if they have occasion to test drive it.
Everytime I start to think maybe I'm over the whole MT thing (been exclusively driving MT for 25yrs now yikes getting to be an old fart)
I end up in some rental or friends AT and I instantly am born again MT evangelist.

Maybe someday if I can afford a true 'super' car dual clutch 9 speed+ AT I'll feel a little different, but...not likely to happen in my lifetime.
Bottom Line OP : IM(obviouslynotso)HO Hold out! It took me months to locate my '07 MT and I even had it transferred from TX to IL - so worth it.
When you test drive one dump the clutch in high RPMs just to make sure the clutch is good. Make sure you hit the floor when you dump it. If it slips for a brief moment, then the clutch is worn and will need to be replaced soon.
Lol who the fuck in their right mind is gonna let you dump the clutch at high RPM's on a test drive... You can do a WOT run from say 2nd to 3rd and when you shift you can see if it slips...
If you're buying from the owner then no, but at a dealer they will. I did it with the sales guy in the car. Just tell him you are going to test the clutch when you're driving the car, then just do it! That's what I did. They didn't care, I ended buying the car. Trust me the last thing you wanna do is pay top dollar for the car and drop another 1100 to 2000 into it for a clutch and possibly a flywheel.

feel that Ron A burn, baby...I love manual...but I do find that I'm much less stressed in traffic in my automatic work truck. Then again, it's not my truck, and I'm getting paid to sit in it. I always am happy to get into one of my 6MT when I get back to the yard to drive home. If I didn't have a no traffic, 10 mile round trip...maybe I'd feel differently although I drove for years in 1.5 hours traffic each way with a manual and never considered selling.
was in the same boat as OP for the past few months, was looking for type-s 6 speed that was reasonably priced but it's slim pickins here and they're all over priced in New England.
within 100 miles of me in central MA, there's ~18 type-s and only 2-3 were 6 speed
settled for an 05 6-speed nav non-s instead but even at that I had to drive 60 miles about an 1.5 hours one way into rural northern new hampshire to get

looks to me like it's 2 links.
one of them is for a 2007 Acura TL Type S with a 6-Speed w/Navigation.
The other link is probably for an 08 Acura TL-S with a 6 Speed transmission also.

I would check either car out and see whats wrong with it if someone wanted me to. I am very close to both. I would be interested in them myself if I didnt have too many cars already.
Just let me know.
