Thankyou for so much input on this choice. I figure that when a get my cash available I will do a local search (up to 100 miles) and see whats available at that time. Whatever I buy must be white with nav and black leather. I am still leaning towards the Type-S, but not sure right now. I have a very old friend thats a Master mechanic and owns his own shop in Lake Bluff, IL. His repairs are mostly Mercedes, BMW, and Porsche. I am also considering( brothers suggestion) a 2008 Alpine white BMW 335i sedan. I know how nice they are, because I drove 2 new 135i BMW's back in 2008 when I was considering tradding in my 07 ASM TL Type-S on one.

Thanks again, and God Bless

Loveee my TL, but if I had the money for either one, I would go for the M45. my favorite car in that class. those stock rims are sooooo niceeee.

Every single nissan I have ever owned has had countless CEL problems.

Knock sensors, 02 sensors, blah blah blah blah.

Not the case with Hondas and Acuras....The TL gets my vote.

Also, if you're looking at prices, I think its important to notice the fact that the Infiniti lost ~$30K in value in 4 years. At the same time, the TL lost ~$10k. This obviously means something....The TL holds its value better because there is more of a demand for it...now ask yourself why is there more of a demand for it?

Goodluck deciding!

Goes both ways... My 2G TL came from the factory with a faulty steering rack that needed to be replaced within the first week of ownership. The radiator later failed. As did the transmission.

My 3G TL needed 2 new power window motors, a new engine mount, 2 transmissions, a power steering pump, and an idler pulley. When I first bought the TL, I ordered a spoiler from the dealer... I drove 2 hours to the dealer, to find out they ordered the wrong color spoiler. All 4 of the thumb plates on the door handles fell off too.

My Infiniti has never needed any repairs except for 2 TSBs (knocks on wood).

When I brought the TL in for service, most of the time, they always gave me an enterprise rental if they needed my car more than a day. When my wife got into a car accident, the Acura Collision center said they do not give Acura loaners at all.

When I brought my Infiniti in for service, I always got an Infiniti Loaner, even if they needed my car more than a day. They didn't even care if I put gas back in the car. When I got hit by a truck, and brought it in for repairs, they didn't have any Infiniti loaners, but walked with me to the back lot, and said I could choose any vehicle I wanted as a loaner... I pointed to an FX45... They said ok... Few minutes later they pulled it up... It had 8 miles on the clock. (I wasn't even going through insurance, I was just getting an alignment and a suspension piece replaced). One time I inquired about a thumb plate for the door handle, because I wanted one that didn't have a keyhole... I was saying I didn't like that you could roll the windows down with the key/screwdriver/etc... They ordered the plate for me free of charge, and even had me bring my car back later, and they installed it free of charge as well. Acura stealership has never done me any favors. They mostly said I needed repairs I didn't need... Like saying I needed a coolant flush, even tho they replaced the radiator a few weeks prior... They were backpedaling when I asked them to look up the service records, and they saw the radiator replacement.

That's not really fair either. The two cars are not really in the same class. The TL and the G are in the same class.. The M is more of the RL's class. Back in 2005, the Infiniti G Coupe was rated as having best resale value in it's class, besting the TL. (Not sure if that's true anymore...)

Also, with the economy, V8 cars have tanked in resale value pretty much across the board. The TL is a V6 car that gets reasonable fuel economy. The M45 is a V8 powered car, that gets worse fuel economy than comparable V6 cars, so it was hammered in resale value, along with other V8 cars.

You can't go wrong with either the TL or the M45, they each have their pluses and minuses... And despite my experiences, I still love all my cars to death

Oh yeah, and I forgot about the switch fiasco on my TL as well... My heated seat switch was faulty, but the dealership refused to fix it under warranty, saying it was a wear item, claiming only the bulb was bad, despite me showing them the switch itself was actually faulty. Then they wanted like $160 to replace it.

Acuras may be sexier and stuff than Infiniti, but the customer service at Infiniti is light years ahead of Acura.

Thanks for the awesome opinions, and caring to help me

God Bless You.

I have done research ( Not personal experience) I have owned 3 TL's myself including an 07 Type-S.

Back to research I have found Infiniti as reliable on average then the TL.

Its basically looks and how fun the car is to drive for me. I am almost 50 years old, but I still act like I am 30. Fun factor is VERY important, more the looks that is a very close second to the fun factor. I even considered a 2008 Civic Si because I have owned a new NBP 07 Civic Si sedan also.

I am also including the 335i sedan, 550i sedan, and a 135i convertable. ALL those BMW's have great fun factor also.

Thanks again

Lexus is light years ahead of everyone.

It just depends on the vehicle and the dealership. Lexus is more consistent in every category.

I still think you got a lemon vehicle-- one of like a 1000 that is bad.

I am really looking at 4 different cars. Yesterday I found 2-4 door BMW 335i"s with 30,000 miles, one was totally loaded, and the other was loaded without Nav. Both had the sport pkg(loaded) with the awesome 18"OEM wheels with brand new Bridgestones RE50 I believe. Both were silver and had 29,000-31,000 miles. Bothe are Certified lease trades with warranties until 2014 or 100,000 miles. One was $30,750, and the other with Nav was $31,000- but it has ugly silver interior trim.

Its going to be HARD to choose between these and a 07-08 WDP TL Type-S. If I can find a low mileage WDP 07-08 TL Type-S with ebony/grey leather for no more then $25,000, then the TL will be my pic. Waiting to cash in stock. I WILL PAY CASH

07-08 WDP TL Type-S
Infiniti M45
Lexus GS460
BMW Certified 335i Sedan with Sport Pkg.

I want white !!!!!

could be completely wrong here but, if its a "5.1 audio system" doesn't that mean that it has 5 speakers and 1 subwoofer..hence the name 5.1?

shouldnt it be a 14.1 system (which I never heard of)?

5.1 channels. They probably count every individual driver (tweeter, mid, woofer) to get the 14 speaker tag.

I'm super jelly of you guys with the areo kit...

This is sort of how I look at the issue.

TL if you want a more sporty look, m45x if you want a more luxury look.

I am pretty sure I said a 14 speaker DVD audio system.

Yes 5.1 is 5 full bandwidth channels, and a sub amp.

Thanks All you great people God Bless You

I am gettting about $40,000 soon and want to buy a used 07-08 TL Type-S.

I am pretty sure I am going to get the Acura now. Its just TOO BEAUTIFUL to pick another, Total Sport/Luxury all in one.

I have highly considered what my Nephew suggested. Buy a 2006 WDP TL with black leather, put $20,000 in the bank, and start saving. I lost my unemployment, But I am starting a business building Hi quality custom SUBWOOFER ENCLOSURES the size to fit the owners car/trunk, also detailing inside and out of cars/trucks. I have $40,000 worth of tools in a fully insulated 2.5 car well lit and ready for me to use, my dad passed away 1.7 years ago, so its my garage and tools now. RIP dad

I found an 06 WDP TL with black leather, 65,000 miles, original owner, very good condition, with tinted windows, 3 month old 19" wheels with a polished lip and black centers with new tires, he also has the A-Spec body kit, and A-Spec coilovers, tail lights blackened, and a few other mods, for only $18,700 WOW.

I am really now leaning towards the TL, I have learned SO MUCH on here, took front and rear bumper off, installed A-Spec body kit and Tein SS myself, rear tail lights, many lights, J-Pipe, exhaust, RSB. Why get anything else.

I have a new question. But first I understand all about the suspension's on 04-06 auto's and manuals, I have owned both. I also know that the 07-08 TL Type-S is stiffer then the 04-06 TL's. I know that an 04-06 with the manual get the Brembo's and the auto doesnt. Also know the 07-08 Base TL is softer then both ALL TL's.

I am going to get an autotragic because other people will be driving my car now, they do not drive sticks. I am going to spend $20,000 max and save $20,000-stocks.

I am probably going to get a base auto 06-08 TL, because used 07-08 TL Type-S are not $20k unless they have 100,000 miles-NO THANKS. I want a max of 60,000 miles.

Whether I buy a Base 06-07 I will be installing Tein SS coilovers and a Progress 24mm RSB.

Question: What else on the 07-08 TL is softened?

I like the 07-08 much more due to lower fog lights, back-up camera with Nav, and side mirror turnsignals.

Thanks. I know I am anal, please be patient with me

God Bless
